White smoke is normally ‘steam’ which means water is vapourising! If it is white ‘smoke’ then it could be as a result of low engine temperature. White Smoke will smell of unburned diesel - White ‘Steam’ will not!.

AFAIK, puwede lagyan yung old school diesel ng 2T sa fuel tank para makatulong sa decarbonizing. 128:1 ang ratio para safe. Done it already. No problems so far. Still checking the FC if it will improve but i doubt it. Decarbonize lang talaga.

pag black smoke,it means, kelangan i decarbonized or i flushed mo ng tubig yung tambutso mo bro...ganyan kadalasan ko ginagawa...pag white smoke naman, kahit mainit na makina mo or malayo na tinakbo mo,pero visible talaga yung white smoke, then sa nozzle na yan, mauling na yung nozzle mo kya hindi na "mist" yung buga ng diesel sa combustion chamber...

pero according to your post, mukhang pareho mong kelangan gawin yan...parang medyo kulang ka sa maintenance,hehe...saka yung white smoke,di lang mabaho, masakit pa sa mata...mura lang naman palinis ng nozzle...yung paglinis ng tambutso, pwede na sa carwash yun or kung may hi pressure ka,I DIY mo nalang...

hi there sir! Im also a 4ja1 engine owner. recently i just bought a hilander mdl 97 from a good friend of mine, at first everything else in my car seems to be in perfect condition not to mention the engine. but lately ive noticed that everytime i drove the car in long trips especially during hot and humid day and try to check my engine oil dipstick lever i notice a white smoke coming out from it with a little bit air pressure and there are times that the oil dipstick lever puffed up which i believe due to the air pressure inside the engine. is my engine are in need for total overhaul already??? hope u could help me and give me some advise! thank you and godbless!

Sign of blow-by yan. Better have a compression test. Search mo lang dito mga threads regarding where to go for compression tests.

Or better yet, go to a tructed mechanic.

Sure, the vehicle would still run but performance would be compromised (as signs begin to show). As I was told, lahat naman ng diesel engines are "Blow by".... I guess what matters is to what extent is it blow by. Kaya as Ry suggested, best to confirm what steps are required to remedy this..... likely an overhaul.

Thanks sir Benz, naitanong ko rin lang kasi meron din akong na-observed na minimal amount of smoke coming out from the dipstick hole, so far wala pa naman akong nararamdamang pagbabago sa performance ng unit ko as to power, fuel consumption, decline in oil level however, this is one of the signs that my engine is already aging and should not be taken for granted.

    Thanks.

4JA1 Engine, Are there any problems?
