from my experience and some research on the net, may dalawang transmission models fitted sa mga 4JA1. eto ay yung MUA & MSG. the MUA trans have higher gear ratios so much better ito on uphill climbs, load carrying, etc. yung company service ko non e MSG. hirap na hirap umakyat pero nakaka 140 kmh sa hiway.

Seems there was a little air inside the water separator, just bleed it and its ok after that, I remember i cleaned and replaced fuel filter, maybe i was not able to do proper bleeding that time.

Nilagay yan kasi may purpose yan. Siguro ang mas maganda tanggalin mo, yung mekaniko mo. Hehe. Ipabalik mo na lang ulit yan thermostat.

Pwede po ba yun malaman depending on the manufacturing year ng sasakyan? Mine is a 1992 Isuzu LS Model 4x2. Thanks sir!

Same with mine sir. Year 1992 pa pero same engine lang non-turbo 4JA1 and yes hirap na ako umangat pa above 100kph sir be it a straight highway without kasalubong or kasunuran. Done that with the 5th gear at kahit anong sagad ko sa accelerator pedal halos hirap ng humugot pa ng speed yung makina, kita ko naman sa speedometer at RPM gauge hindi na halos tumataas. Staying between let's say 1800-2000 rpm. Di talaga siya ganon kabilis because I've driven the same road (same condition) using our non-CRDi TDi 4D56 strada at kayang kaya ko pang umabot ng around 140-150 kph eh.

Mine is medyo mausok din pero itim at may nginig din minsan (although this could be broken engine support lang or maduming fuel pump e.g. may tubig sa loob or maduming air filter; my car used to be shakey din noon but then nung pina-service ng father ko paguwi niya wala nang alog, sabi niya nilinis ng mechanic yung air filter kasi madumi na halos may lumot na and yung fuel pump because madumi na! sometimes ngayon medyo umaalog siya and maybe baka kelangan ko ng palitan fuel pump and air filter but it's just that na inayos sa akin wala na alog)...

    Base on my experience~
    a. Battery Indicator - Yung sinasabi na I.C. sa alternator. I think it's the most sensitive part of the alternator eh and I don't know sa ibang place ha but dito sa amin yung mga nagbebenta ng ganyang parts ay may "No Return Policy". It's either you get a good I.C. or a defective one. I don't know bakit ganon. I had mine changed few months ago, mabuti it was a good buy pero same lang tayo every startup ko especially sa umaga (first start-up) always nag-aappear yung battery indicator pero nawawala when I rev up the engine. But be reminded na if hindi pa din nawala kahit anong rev up mo, alternator na may problema, hindi na siya nagchacharge. Or baka grounded connection ng indicator pwede rin so it keeps on showing up.

    b. Oil Indicator - base on my experience, nag-aappear yung ganon sa akin na matagal and kelangan pa i-rev up (just like that battery indicator problem) nung time na hindi ko namalayan yung engine oil ko konting konti na lang pala (those times na may leak sa oil seal ng engine ko and transmission so unti-unting nauubos yung engine oil). I also took notice during those times na konting konti nalang engine oil ko, pag mabilis takbo ko and then magmemenor ako to turn to a road in my side (whether left or right) nag-aappear for a split second yung oil indicator but then kahit na konti nalang engine oil ko nung time na yun, hindi man lang nag-overheat yung engine or uminit na katumbas ng init ng ibang engine during normal usage good condition.

4JA1 Engine, Are there any problems?
