shockz: Wow, didn't know na hindi full leather ang seats ng Fortuner... Diba mga lumang Paj, Trooper etc full leather?

Anyway, in addition to this post, I suggest you go to their website and email them directly as well... Mabagal sumagot dito minsan, maybe they don't frequent the board that much.

As for the pricing, I honestly believe na di yan ang rate ng Kelseat to Toyota, yung dealer nalang pumatong ng malaki...

Good luck sa file ng complaint, 60K is extraordinarily overpriced for vinyl.

Ya shockz, pls keep us posted, and if you email Kelseat if they could post here as well. I will be installing leather on the new ride I'll be getting (already ruled out Fortuner because of the compulsory leather and "suggested" Toyota financing).

Man, don't these companies believe in Karma?

Shockz, any update from Kelseat? Or did you settle this privately? (that's ok). Am sure most of this is on Toyota...but not all. I would suggest to Kelseat to do something about this. Reputation is something that is extremely difficult to maintain but easy to ruin, and in almost any line of work it is the key to continued success.

I did get to to sit in a Fortuner, and I agree that not only is the leather poor quality, but the leatherette is the type you can buy in divisoria for 140 pesos per yard. Very disappointing indeed. (nice car though)

    matingnan nga kung talagang leatherette...

pero why blame kelseat? after all you agreed to pay 60k for the supposedly leather seats. sana you inspected more closely.

    shockz,

I guess it was the fault of Toyota that they did not inform you that the Fortuner only has leather SEATING SURFACES. Other minor areas are covered with synthetic material.

Very rare na ngayon ang FULL leather seats even as OEM from big manufacturers (Benz, BMW, etc.). However, they do point out in the fine print that this is the case. Maybe Toyota Philippines (and other local manufacturers) is not as transparent when it comes to details like these.

i checked the seats of my fortuner this morning and it looks all leather to me. Siguro some dealers opted to take the semi leather option for their fortuners. Kahit yung pocket sa likod leather sya.

Peeps, sori natagalan ako bumailk d2. Anyway, no replies or contact from Kelseat. I guess busy sila sa dami ng Fortuner orders nila ngayon...

as for checking the fine print or looking closer at the seats nung nag punta kami sa dealer for reservation, well...... di ko na lam sasabihin ko. Siguro sobra excited ng maka sakay ako sa Fortuner.

Pero ang sabi sa akin ay "Leather Seat covers" ang ilalagay. At 65K, i was expecting real leather talaga.

By the way, maganda ang ginamit na "leatherette" or synthetic material kaya madaling mapagkamalan na leather ito. I should know dahil nga gumagamit din ako nito sa trabaho ko as raw materials. And meron din chemicals ang agents na ginagamit para amoy leather ang synthetics. Usually pinapahid lang ito ang matagal mawala ang amoy.

AFAIK, wala ng Kelseat. Some of their upholsterer are now with Lederland.

I stopped by a seat cover maker near our house, he quoted me 5,500 for a set of leatherette seat covers for my 95' pajero. I could choose either full or cloth combi at same price. ok ba yun?
