Maayos talaga gawa doon. Nakaka tatlong PMS na yung Sportage dun. Nitong 30,000km lang pumalpak, after nila palitan yun fuel filter bigla nag-hard starting at sinisinok pag-mag start ang engine. Lumakas din sa gas. Zic A+ 5W-20 gamit ko.

Sa metikuloso kong 'to.

Thanks for the heads up, Starex gold

Im in Manila so Hyundai Quezon Ave will be fine. I might take you up on your offer Starex gold.. titimbrehan kita pag na-file ko na

I wouldnt mind driving all the way up to Las Pinas either if thats what it takes for a hassle-free Warranty claim. Kakatakot kasi mga Horror Stories dito sa mga casa.. like yung current thread now on North Edsa (also Rack & Pinion claim)

So: "BAD" Casas: E.Rod, Manila Bay/Macapagal. I also remember bad thread about Abad Santos and I remember someone before complaiing about Otis (I think it was you Stargold ) (Otis was my casa and sabi nila no prob daw i-claim tapos biglang nag-sara naman and referring me to Abad Santos... pero takot na rin ako dun bec of negative feedback....)

"Good' Casas: Quezon Ave, Las Pinas, Commonwealth ?

    any others?

Ok ba sa Hyundai BGC or what is now Hyundai Pasong Tamo? Its part of the Autohub Group, just for your information LOL

    Just an update...

my problem is worse now. When I twist the steering wheel fully (as in hard left or hard right) may sumasabit and you can feel a loud popping sound and resistance. I showed it to my mechanic and he said rack and pinion nga daw and says its dangerous daw.. baka mag lock up na lang steering ko and I lose control. So i havent been using my car lately.

Already made an appointment with a casa (since my original casa, OTIS, is now closed) and will bring my car in tomorrow.

Im just bummed that it might take a few weeks up to a month before its fixed, assuming i wont encounter warranty claim problems like the one in HNE. That means weeks or months i cant use my 2 year old car? And to add insult to injury, these are the times that at least you would feel better "whew! Good thing my car has a 3 year/ 5 year warranty!!" but then we read a lot of horror stories here so instead of feeling relieved, you feel anxiety pa...

Anyway, anyone here has this kind of problem as well? steering column problem? Might it not be the whole steering column/EPS assembly (like the case of that claim in HNE over i the other thread?)

Can I ask how many Hyundai owners have problems with Rack and Pinion, (specially for newer car models like the 2011 Accent and Elantra?)

I have this problem and saw quite a few people in other threads have this too (and this are only recent posts.. maybe there's more complaints elsewhere .. ie., the "Accent Problems" thread is over a hundred pages so maybe there's some mentioned somewhere in there)

    But to recap:

#1. The mechanic in my last PMS said i have a Rack & Pinion problem (after I complained) , and he admitted its a common problem, and they have replaced several already under warranty. Problem is, I applied for warranty replacement but the Casa closed down already (Otis)

#2. Read some other Tsikoters managed to get their rack and Pinion Replaced.

#3. Read some other Tsikoter also complaining of Rack and Pinion problems, but so far no updates from them, (I am creating this thread in the hopes of consolidating any similar complaints out there, instead of being scattered in other threads)

#4 Read post of maimaicomp,, his Elantra has the same Rack and Pinion problem but he has a nightmare dealing with Hyundai Edsa for the warranty..

#5 Re: Warranty Claims/PMS schedule/"5 year extendy Warranty"/ HARI after sales service..... Several ongoing threads about this where MANY HYUNDAI OWERS ARE COMPLAINING. (see #4). However, there are some who had easier time with Warranty claims (see #2)

#6. Btw, I googled "Hyundai (or Accent) Rack and Pinion Problems/Warranty" didnt find any results of anyone really complaining about this. Only anecdotal evidence (see # 1-4) I was wondering if this is an issue in units sold in other markets (for example, it seems accent rear shocks is widely acknowledged as a known issue)

So...anyone out there care to share any similar experiences? Now that my Casa (who at first seemed to say no problem to my warranty claim..they even took pics and everything) is closed, I need to find a RELIABLE, HASSLE-FREE CASA (Is there even such a thing? According to #2, there are). I already know to Avoid North Edsa like the Plague. So Any Suggestions? How about Hyundai Macapagal?

Thanks in Advance to any advice.

    Hi sir,

If I may ask, ito (Rack & Pinion issue) ba yung tunog kalampag when driving in some uneven terrain?

    Thank you
