Share ko lang ang experience ko with Hyundai North Edsa's Service Manager Rudy and Hari's Service Head Eric Ortiz.

June 3, 2011 - when i got my elantra at Hyundai Cabanatuan satellite station in Baliuag, during my first drive, i noticed a rattling sound underneath that can be felt over the steering wheel. I complained about that problem with them but they told me to wait for other symptoms to manifest since they have 5 years warranty.

from 5,000 / 10,000 / 15,000 km PMS, all they do is re-tightening of bolts and nuts on the steering column. On the 20,000 km PMS which happens to be on Hyundai North Edsa, nirequest ko sa service advisor na baka pwedeng palitan na nila kung anong pyesa ang problema dahil baka may ibang pyesa pa na maapektuhan pag puro re-tighten lang ang ginagawa nila dahil pabalik-balik lang ang problema at hindi naman naso-solve.

there comes a point na nagkaroon kame ng problema sa warranty claims with our grand starex sa same dealer, when i checked my elantra's receipt noong 20k km pms, nakita kong may note na dun na "need to overhaul rack and pinion", and then, re-tightened lang ulit ang ginawa nila. so we decided to complain both vehicle's warranty to DTI.

May 16, 2013 - during the mediation sa DTI, they promised (in front of DTI mediator) na papalitan na nila lahat ng sirang pyesa sa starex, and regarding the elantra, papalitan din nila yung steering column and rack and pinion even the whole EPS assembly.

June 7, 2013 - dinala namin yung elantra sa north edsa para sa replacement ng mga parts at isabay na ang 25,000 km PMS. 2 weeks after, they called me to get the car while waiting for the EPS assembly to arrive. when i got the car, puro gasgas sa dashboard, sa steering wheel, sa bumper at sa fender. So i angrily added this complain. But they told me na aayusin daw nila sabay sabay pag dating ng EPS assembly. after 1 month of waiting, dumating na yung pyesa, so they get the car para ikabit yung assembly at ayusin ang mga gasgas.

Very unprofessional itong si RUDY.

Problem here is they aren't following protocol.. but so are you. Once you sign that waiver, you're automatically saying "my job here is done" and you cannot claim any additional damages or accuse them of wrongdoing thereafter.

During those two months, were you following them up? Dropping by for inspections hopefully? Although the company may be great, some individuals inside might be unethical and downright bad apples. It always pays to be extra cautious.. and when they're following protocol, at least you can follow-it-up. Many individuals get lazy when there's simply a long pending order.. I know this as an entrepreneur.

The SOP is to give you a prior checklist of the condition of the car before you hand the car to them. Here they note of things such as the amount of pesos inside your coin box, your tools at your trunk, your interior modifications and the like. Upon claiming, you should check everything within that paper to guarantee na wala sila ginalaw nor pinalit.

For job orders and even warranty claims, lagi may papeles for those. If they replaced the rack and pinion assembly, you should see that in the paper along with everything else they replaced.

Also, your aren't obligated to follow time-duration PMS schedules. Most of us here and what you should do is follow your distance kilometer reading instead.

Your options are a bit limited nalang from here on. For a start, I suggest storming in Hyundai NE and demanding to see their head. Explain the situation calmly and check your options from there.

On a personal note, wala ako problema sa Hyundai North EDSA. I do my PMS scheduling there and is quite familiar with them since I spent a lot in Prudential Insurance thanks to collision repairs in 2012 (there was a time my car was there for 2 months awaiting a new door from South Korea). I also get free breakfast if I do servicing in the morning... but best service would be the free shuttle papunta SM North EDSA or Trinoma. It's godsent rather than waiting X hours for your cars to be finished.

Hyundai North EDSA
