    I think the whistling sound is just normal for the trubo. My Starex also have whistling sound starting at 3rd gear whenever I rev the engine past 2500 rpm.
    No need to worry about the sound coming from our turbo...

    My Starex is 99 M/T TCI, my average FC is ~8 km/L
    Pure highway FC is ~10 km/L

    purely city lang yan.

    update ko lang sa trip ko kanina.

    Sucat to Tagaytay
    Tagaytay to Sucat trip.

    Filled to the brim at Shell Sucat Road with Shell Unleaded (41 pesos only per liter btw).

    126.2 kms

    after going back to Sucat, same gas station, same gas pump...filled to the brim again.

    Total consumption 4.99 liters

    - 2 passengers plus heavy subwoofer at the back
    - cruising speed at 65-70 kph
    - top speed at 100 kph for about 30 secs only
    - 4 stop overs in total ( off-on ang makina )
    - downhill I don't step on the gas anymore, alalay lang sa brakes
    - no aircon at all
    - odo at 4500++
    - was really aiming to beat my Manila - Tagaytay record of 19 km/l

    126.2 kms
    4.99 liters

    2008 CRDi Grand starex - Baguio trip fully loaded. 7-8km/ltr.

    Mine is a SVX 2000. About its fuel consumption, One thing I noticed that when i push it to more than 100 kmh my fuel consumption is about 5-6 but when I just drive about 80 or less fuel consumption is about 8-10.

    I am also curious about the FC of the CRDi VGT as compared to the TCi... thinking of getting one in the future. Ganda kasi ng Starex parang kang may mini playground sa loob

    Make the right decision....go ahead and buy the new GS with VGT. It's worth all the 300K if you really crave for full-sized van performance.

    si Dragonheart naka 2.7V6- between 7 to 9kms/li yata sa earlier SF pages...

    Thanks sir C190! I've read through the SF pages (haba na) and saw it nga 6-9kms/li.
    I am having problems deciding between the CRDi and V6 version ng SF, with the rising prices ng diesel. It will come down to which is more fuel efficient (mukhang CRDi) at lower cost(V6?) to maintain. I normally keep my cars kasi so I need to consider the cost of ownership.

    with my Santa Fe 2.7 V6 I get the following FC depending on the gas:

    Shell Super Unleaded- 5.2 km/l
    Petron Xtra Unleaded - 5.5 - 5.8 km/l
    Caltex Silver - 6.6 km/l

    take note that this is all tipid driving meaning I try to keep the rpm at 1500 if possible and not traveling more than 70 km/h
