Turbos really do make a whining sound esp. when turning at very high speeds (in excess of 10,000 rpm ang speed ng turbo). Maybe you have not had a turbo vehicle before.

share ko lang story ko from the other thread...

update ko lang sa trip ko kanina.

Sucat to Tagaytay
Tagaytay to Sucat trip.

Filled to the brim at Shell Sucat Road with Shell Unleaded (41 pesos only per liter btw).

126.2 kms

after going back to Sucat, same gas station, same gas pump...filled to the brim again.

Total consumption 4.99 liters

- 2 passengers plus heavy subwoofer at the back
- cruising speed at 65-70 kph
- top speed at 100 kph for about 30 secs only
- 4 stop overs in total ( off-on ang makina )
- downhill I don't step on the gas anymore, alalay lang sa brakes
- no aircon at all
- odo at 4500++
- was really aiming to beat my Manila - Tagaytay record of 19 km/l

126.2 kms
4.99 liters
_________
25.29 km/l

Hmmm...very subjective din kasi ang symptoms. Dapat marinig muna bago ma-assess. Hindi naman belts yan?

Nope, hindi belts. its the same noise that you will hear if there is a crack sa rubber ng mga doors...Anyone who can hear it think that its with the doors. One by one, tinakpan ko ang door sa likod, then passenger side then sliding, including windows, one by one. Pero same pa rin. Yung sa driver side na lang ang hindi ko pa nasusubukang takpan pero di naman doon kasi i tried opening it a little while driving at 70KPH, noise is still there.

i just discovered na pag nag maintain ka ng speed between 70-80kph e sobrang tipid ng ating 2010 sta fe.

typically ang range ko sa consumption based on the display is from 10-10.2 liter / 100 km.

last night umuwi ako from work around 230am at eto ginawa ko.
- reset the liter/km reading
- maintain 70-80kph as much as possible
- nung nasa subd na ko e ave spped ko e 20-30kph.
- voila pagdating ko ng bahay consumption ko is 6 liters / 100km.

distance ng house ko from the office is about 14km one way.

eto yung pic pag hinto ko sa tapat mismo ng bahay.

actually running with that speed will produce a very fuel efficient run kahit anong koche. mas na re-realize lang naten kasi at that speed naka engage na yung 6th gear both sa tucson at sta. fe. then the rpm is just at 1500~1750rpm. so best cruising speed yan na mag yield ng best fuel economy.

kaso sa highway parang sobrang bagal naman ng 80kph, the R-evgt engine will just tempt you to go faster. haha

baka naman me butas na rubber seal ng windshield mo or baka meron kang nakainstall na roofrack or rainvisor sa doors that may produce whistling sound at highspeed.

OT: Sa GEN I Pajero namin. Yung mismong door seal ng passenger ang problema. So whether window up or down, andun ang tunog.

I'll check the Roof rack...yes meron ngan roof rack ang van ko. Try ko i-seal sa labas ang door sa driver side.

One thing I've noticed is that the noise starts when I shift to 4th Gear. I try to keep it slow mamaya pag-uwi at 4th Gear and see if has something to do with it. Will probably run it at 50KPH sa 4th gear to check.

I removed the roof rack yesterday and went to the office today, wind noise is still present. Waahh, saan kaya yun?!

Will try to seal the hood naman mamaya.
