Acquired our HB AT from a friend who left for the US recently with just 5795k on the Odo. Last PMS as per the receipt from the previous owner, last June 2014 using HGMO fully synthetic oil, etc. So far ok naman performance, pero what bothers me is that I'm not getting better FC based from what I read from forums and reviews from the media how fuel-efficient an HB is. I'm thinking baka sa oil na ginamit last PMS kaya I'm not getting good FC with the unit. So are we allowed to bring our own motor oil, air/oil/fuel filter and just have the unit serviced sa casa? If payag sila, how much ang labor and possibly additional charge for bringing in these said items. Any specific oil you guys would recommend other than what's listed sa manual na Shell Helix or the HGMO brand. I'm considering Motul CRDI, or Liquimolly 5w-30. Lastly, sa nakakabili ng air, oil, and fuel filter na OEM na cheaper ang price against casa price. Your responses would be highly appreciated. TIA and more power to TAP!

IMO, the HGMO branded oil actually s*cks big time. You're actually better off with a Delo Gold ultra (CI-4) or a Delo 400 (CI-4+) compared to the CF rated HGMO crap. Even the CH rated Delo Gold is better.

I wonder why Hyundai is pushing the CF rated HGMO when the spec sheets of their CRDI engines specify that the required oil should be CH or greater?

Yes, API rating of HGMO FS is CI-4. I think what Kompressor was referring to was the Shell supplied oil that Hyundai used to use. They now use an oil made by Amalie USA.

Cj-4 supersedes all other API ratings. Check mo www.apicj-4.org para masagot mga tanong mo ng mas authority sa langis.

Based sir sa post mo na site:

API CJ-4 oils are also engineered for use in previous model year engines and intended to maintain oil drain intervals when used in conjunction with Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (15 ppm maximum sulfur). As always, you should follow engine manufacturers' recommendations for specific application guidelines for all engine oil products.

(Correct me if I'm wrong) Euro 5 lang ang dapat na fuel mo para magamit ang benefits ni API CJ-4, kasi max 10 ppm sulfur content nito. Euro 4, max 50 ppm tapos Euro 2 max 500 ppm.

see Diesel fuel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - jan ko po nakuha yung sulphur content.

    Again, just my opinion sir.
