    Sirs,

So since CVVT ang cause ng engine knocks will these knocks shorten the life of the engine? or the knocks due to the replaced defective CVVT parts with no effect to the engine life? Thanks.

That's a sucky-expensive fix if you have to pay for it!

If it is a design flaw, Hyundai should issue an immediate recall before things truly get ugly. That is a gosh dang expensive fix out of pocket. Apparently, not every '11 and up Accent has issues. I find that if you know of a reputable gas station with untainted gas, stick with that one or else you are taking a risk when you gas up some place else. I learned the hard way but that is what I recommend if you are having the symptoms..it fixed my power lag issue.

Bottom line, Hyundai is not as reputable as people are led to believe but sadly it is pretty common in the automotive world.

Kung stick to one gas station ka, ang pinahihirapan mo ay ang sarili mo, why are you accepting to be a captive of replaceable part?

Kung ano ang sira, ibalik sa hyundai at ipaayos sa kanila, you purchase a apple and you received a lemon.

And I refuse to be a victim of gas stations with dirty and tainted gasoline. I didn't mean to say just one but if you happen to experience gas stations with clean gas then go for those.
Why you think its that easy? You can try back reading all the way back to 2011 so you have some appreciation of the gravity of the situation and what us owners have had to go through here. You have no idea about the hardships people experienced with this particular model. Only people who owns this 'lemon' will understand. Do you think all of the Hyundai dealerships around the country talk to each other about how to come up with the solution to this problem? I find that different dealerships around the country have different courses of action when addressing the issue. Of course nobody wants to be a 'captive' or be a hostage to a particular situation but its not like you have plenty of choice in this country. For the record, it was already a lemon when bought.

Just bring it to any Hyundai casa. Before palitan CVVT mo for sure dadaan ka muna sa "Compulsory Primary Procedure" (ECU updates, karga ka lang dapat ng Shell 97 octane gas, ECU replacement, etc...) tapos pag hindi ka na mapaikot at nagbanta ka na ng lawsuit or DTI complaint (and also kasama na after around 20,000 kms of religious PMS) ay tsaka palang isa-suggest CVVT replacement.

U.S. Hyundai Car Owners also discovered another defect:

Yes. Kappa engine and 6 speed manual. Slightly lower outputs than current Gamma engines.

Hopefully. The Kappa engine in the i10 is good when mated to a manual transmission.

It's not yet a solution until someone posts here that they went to the dealership, opted to claim CVVT replacement and had it replaced with no questions asked. Malamang sa malamang mga pumunta ng casa after mabasa 'to eh katakot-takot na "pre-check, re-program ECU, clean spark plugs, return unit to dealership if knocking occurs again" na paulit-ulit na recommendation pa ang ibabato ng mga Service Advisor hanggang mag-threat ka pa na ire-report mo sila sa DTI.

To whoever gets their CVVT warranty claimed easily post it here and let us know how you did it though, tired of having to role-play Mr. Irate Customer just to get things done with these HARI-affiliated/related/driven dealerships.
