Baka yung nakaka over 10km/l ay yung manual trans. Odometer ko is still around 500km pa lang so i expect the fc to improve after the 1000km checkup.asar lang ako now sa tope, since my last fulltank dito palang lumabas ito. My first 2 fulltanks wala naman. I gas up with petron unleaded and only go to one station, so hindi siguro sa station yung problem. Will try xcs siguro next fulltank. Although may mga quirks and irritants, i still love this car, dunno why hehehehe, nasanay lang siguro ako sa big cars kaya natutuwa ako dito.i have only two reasons why i bought it, looks nice and dirt cheap price.

Im planning to buy this car next month due to its press release 17km/lit. fuel consumption highway or city driving but as you say, it can only get 6-7 for city driving baka di ko na ituloy yung pagbili ko and just stick to my 11 years old car Nissan sentra series 4 that i can get an 8-10 km/lit. city driving. pa share naman nung fuel consumption nung ibang user ng car na ito. Thanks!
Press release might be right..IF your driving speed is 40kph which is what my usual speed is kaya I am averaging mga 16km/L. I live in the province and attend school at a city university so mabagal lang ako magpatakbo due to a lot of trikes, padyaks, kuligligs and kumag drivers on the roads during morning and and afternoon traffic. You still have time to change your mind based on these posts.

Joke lang but with a lot of reservation towards this car. I try to psycho talk to 'her' and refer to her as my 'white lady' na sana wag niya akong papabayaan and ititirik. Sobrang nakaka irita yung over reactive na alarm and the sticking door handles. I try to tune out the engine knock sound and pretend it isn't there..sigh

Until HARI or Hyundai itself verifies na merong issue tong new Accent otherwise di muna ko magko-conclude. Pwede nga siguro na other factors are at play here. Increasing the volume level is not acceptable kasi I will just be temporarily masking the problem. Better to observe if it comes and goes with what gas you're using. Just my .02c...

Sa mga nagsabing 1km/liter OR insignificant fuel consumption difference between manual at automatic, I beg to disagree. Sa M/T ko noon break-in period na nakuha ko at city driving was at 7 liters per 100 km or 14.29 km/li. Dito sa A/T ngayong break-in period 12.7 liters per 100 km or 7.87 km/li. Almost half ang difference.

Sana mag-improve after 1000kms. pero so far so good, wala pang knocking sounds et al.

Ang layo naman ng difference na yan.
For my unit 1.4MT, I easily get 6-7 liters/100km mix city and highway (may kasama pa hataw yun).

What I do kaya lagi kong alam kung malakas apak ko sa gas, i usually put my my dash info display sa real time liter/100km , on this way at list I can control my fuel consumption.

My unit is perfectly well, except for the velocity joint which the casa has already fixed.
Yung knocking sound na yan, even the dealers don't want to talk about it in detail, best advise they will give you is to use shell fuels or higher octane fuels, which I did and up until now I never experienced the knocking sound.

Actually kung pure provincial / highway trip ang average kaya siguro, but that would require another long drive altogether. :-)

And to think grabe ang hype nun na kesyo matipid daw etc. I have yet to own a car that can get more than 7km/l city driving. Malamang kung kumuha ako ng picanto or i10 baka maka hit nako ng 10km/l, or not.

That's it, kaya mababa ang FC niyo sir. FC really depends sa traffic condition you are into, lalo na madalas pa kayo idling, lets say you are idling for quite some time malaking bagay na yun to your FC kasi that will mean 0km/liter for example and adding to this mas malaki talaga ang FC mo on short trips.

Kadalasan kasi yung iba sa alabang or laguna or bulacan nakatira then work sa ortigas/makati/qc. Kung nakaka over 10km/l man sila sigurado sa haba ng byahe malamang parehas lang kami ng costing per week sa pump, with me averaging a measly 7km/l. At least for me mas hindi ako pagod dahil maiikli trips ko hehehe, in this world talaga you cant have it all. Besides ang 7km/l is already good enough for me, having had an suv na 2.5km/l city driving before malaking bagay na yun hehehe. For an econo car mapili sa fuel, ang gusto pa premium.

I have been contemplating on getting the Accent 1.6 A/T but I know I had to wait for the problems that might arise. It is a Korean car. It is no excuse for them and the car dealers not to know or ignore the common complaints on the Accent. The outer looks and the price has been part of its marketability, thought the interior doesn't complement. Thanks to this thread it makes you realize that you don't get what you paid for.

Beats the purpose of being an econo car...dapat siya pa ang pinaka matipid sa class niya.

    official readings:

Fuel Consumption Mixed (mostly highway though gawa ng sa NLEX naubos halos gas ko): 10.38 km/li typical same pump same gas station computation. Dash reading: 9.0 liter per 100 km or simply 11.11 km/li. Marginal difference but relatively high fc nevertheless. I'm attributing this to the break-in period for now.

Hi fellow tsikoter's, my wife find that our 2011 accent has a problem on tire pressure from day to next day basis. she noticed that the tires were always & almost were losing tire from visual looking at it, then she went to the vulcanizing shop to increase the tire pressure for all 4 wheels at 32 PSI from gauge reading. Then she notice again on the next day morning that tires were change almost losing pressure again. then she went gain to vulcanizing shop, to her surprise all of the wheels were not the same tire pressure. pressure reading from each tire are as follows, 27 PSI, 28 PSI, 27 PSI, 29 PSI. she already called Hyundai QA regarding about the problem. they said to bring the car on Saturday to check the problem. From what i've seen, since all of our units came from South Korea, might be the tires are not for tropical climate conditons, well keep you up to date about the outcome after the service. So try to keep a watch on your tires.

Tire pressure changes in the course of the trip hence the readings could be inaccurate. Pero usually dapat tumataas ang psi habang umaandar, this could be a rare case.

Na-try niyo na ba pahanginan sa gabi to 32 psi, then kinaumagahan pagkagising i-check using a psi gauge? Mura lang naman sa ACE Hardware. :-)
