Mga bossing, share ko lang to, napa-upgrade ko na ECu ko about 3 weeks ago, humina kunti yung hatak on the first few days, pero bumalik naman sa kakahataw ko. Never changed fuel, stayed with XCS. About 4 or 5 days ago, may delay na yung 2nd gear ko, about 4 seconds pa sya magre-response, dadalhin ko sa casa to bukas. I don't know if you have the same experience, pero isa sa mga nauna kasi unit ko, I'm at 8400 ODO na. Just in case you might encounter this issue after your ECU reset, at least di kayo nag-iisa. I'll post the result after. Baka another ECU reset na naman to.
Tsaka yung Distance to empty gauge ko, nag-iistuck-up sya, nakatakbo na ako ng mga 8 kms, naka steady lang yung number nya. hindi rin sya match sa ODO count from point A to point B, against the Distance to Empty deduction. may ganito rin po ba kayo?
Ouch, haha actually after ko magpalit ng sasakyan naging "pagong" nga pagda-drive ko. Curse that ECO light. lol
Still no engine knock for my unit at 2.1K kms... already tried what's posted here, even did it in a memorial park just to make sure tahimik talaga lahat-lahat to hear that knock, still none - open and closed windows wala...
I'm hesitant on having the ECU upgrade due to the report of "slightly" reduced response even with the new one... siguro kapag naging obvious na yung tunog ng engine knock e saka ko na lang papagawa, but for now all's good.![]()
Yung sa akin wala daw ginalaw sa ecu(or so they say), puro adjustment lang ng components concerned. So far walang nagbago sa hatak.... Ang napansin ko lang na nagbago, dati from light to medium apak sa acclerator naka on lagi yung eco indicator, pag madiin na apak ko tsaka nawawala yung eco, after the so called "service", yung eco indicator mas maaga nawawala, pag medium acceleration nag off na siya.
mga bosing, paki verify nyo nga sa akin pag nag turn kayo sa mga corner nag dodownshift tayo sa segunda di ba so medyo babagal, sa akin parang kinakapos ang segunda, kailangan ko pa mag primera. Any comments?
eto na naman lumabas na naman knocking ng accent ko, last thurs pinasok ko sa casa for the ecu update kaso sabi sakin hindi daw nila inupdate because of the low power issue, nilinis, adjust nalang daw nila yung mga maf, pcv etc etc. when i test drove it with their mechanic mukha nga wala na yung tope..ngayon ko lang naalala na it was raining that day and malamig ang weather. i didn't use my accent since that day and ngayon ko lang uli ginamit. after 30 mins of driving in stop and go traffic ayan lumabas na naman knocking. this time tukoy ko na at low rpms lang lumalabas, pag harurot wala. around 1,400 to 1,800 rpm nag manifest yung knocking. medyo mainit panahon this morning kaya siguro lumabas na yung tope. haaay balik casa na naman ako. last week inabot ng 7 hours pagpapa ayos lang ng tope na yan. sayang talaga oras at pagod ko and just thinking about it nabubwisit na naman ako.hyundai erod pala casa ko.
here's my problem w/ my 1.4AT accent of just over 3months old and less than 5k km odo.
- full tank of caltex gold = 190km
- stalling during bridge ramp up especially when traffic.
- most especially at megamall's parking ramp up.
- need pedal to metal to move forward, in short you need to jerk it to move forward (almost involved in an accident)
- at 60-80kph when you step on the pedal it feels like going downshift before it could speed up.
- louder engine knock sound
casa already upgraded the software 3x and the problem still exists. now they suspect that the ECM is defective, still unsure
ang classic dito they do not have spare ECM to validate... now im stuck with this very high quality Hyundai new ACCENT car!
and if you notice my handle is perstaymer... perstaymer to own a brand new car!!! very very very happy!!!!!!!
So far so good sir. Haven't experienced any issues after having the re-calibrated ECU settings. One thing i noticed after the reset is the ECO light stays on most of the time. Bumalik na ung dating "sipa" specially on first gear!Regarding my FC, i had my full tank last thursday after the reset and i've been running for close to 200km with the same exact route and still have 5bars on my gas gauge, trip meter shows 11L/100KM. Before nag aaverage lang ako ng mga 7-8KM/L so i can say nag improve ung FC so far.

i'm a newbie here in tsikot. we are planning to acquire 1.4A/T next month but i am bothered with this engine knock issue. i also read on the other topic that someone is planning to sell his unit. any words of encourgement for me not worry to much on this issue. Salamat po, Ingat po.
Get a Honda. Sa Hyundai, you get good service pero marami pang technical issues. Isa pa the supplier HARI sucks, ito ang mas mahirap na issue. HARI na mismo nag service ng akin, mga BOBO.
Lahat ito thru bad experiences. Walang kasiraan. Sa tingin ko Hyundai is a promising brand pero masyado pang bata sa technical in the car industry to make a statement, marami pang bubu's.

I myself had this issue with engine knock but this is an issue i was pretty sure Hyundai will eventually resolve. It all depends on your expectation as others here will say na you're buying an econo car and not a high end 1m worth car. With all these issues being raised by different owners (some even resorted to media) i still consider myself a satisfied owner.
It was worth my 688K.

There's only one thing you have to be worried about though... if you're really decided to buy an Accent next month then you better reserve one as early as now..LOL!
Sir jayrb, saang CASA ka nagpa reset ng ECU? and what date was this.
Para naman may option yung ibang Accent owner to try this CASA or refer the setting they have used.
Ang problema kasi di natin alam if the all the owners who had their ECU's reset-ted have the same settings.
Problema ito ng HARI generally, if may new settings dapat abisuhan lahat ng owners to have their ECU's reset-ted again. Bakit pa nila hihintayin na magreklamo ang owner.
Yep this is not a 1m car, but we deserve better service from them on this part...

Hyundai Greenhills ako. i had my recalibrated ECU settings to resolve the low power issue caused by the first ECU reset last Thursday. As far as i know these resolutions comes with a MEMO from HARI sent to all hyundai dealership so this should be standard. Sa job order din saken nakalagay lang "As per HARI TBS" not sure whats the meaning of TBS pero my guess would be that's the suggested resolution from HARI. My SA doesn't want to be quoted with this but he mentioned that this ECU setting should eventually be applied to all Accent unit.
The engine knock will be eventually resolved. Mine has that issue, its very minimal, I don't notice it unless I play detective. Right now, I'd advice you to get the Elantra 1.6MT because the waiting list for Accent (sadya or supply issue we don't know) is 3 months! hehehe
i know we have some pro's & cons of every car manufacturer, Hyundai accent has some engine knock, which HARI is already fixing the problem. Honda now has some recalls also due to their power window switch problem which could cause fire, Toyota has some recall with accelerator problem which they already fix the problem, and the list goes on. Kaya kung type mo ang accent just get one,nandiyaan naman ang service centers nila para tulungan tayo sa magiging problem nang ating mga units.
