Hello guys just want to ask if any of you experienced going up to baguio and then upon reaching the city proper your i10 will suddenly loose power or the engine will die while climbing on a steep road. Im using the 2012 1.1 model at. I observed as well na yung indicator lights ng oil and battery started flashing as the engine died. What I did was park the car on the side of the road and waited for 30 mins before starting it again. It was running okay after this. But what bothered me is that 2x na nangyari. I went to baguio the first time when it first happened, then after a year umakyat ulit ako and it happened again. My mileage is just 9800 kms.

Same engine & transmission tayo... Ilang RPM ang engine mo when going uphill? And how many minutes was this RPM maintained?

I checked it agad kasi baka doon nga yung problem pero di naman. I guess the whole uphill climb including yung traffic na uphill took more like 45 mins. My rpm is playing between 2000 and 3000 with occassional 4000 pag talagang kailangan humatak because of the traffic uphill.

Sir this happened to me when I went to Batangas via Tagaytay/Talisay coming from Imus. It was around 8am when I reached Tagaytay rotonda and went to the Caltex station to withdraw sa BPI terminal. When I parked, it suddenly dropped rpm then namatay na makina. Ayaw na din mag start. I really don't know what caused it but my best guess was that the engine was overheating. It was weird because going to tagaytay there was no traffic, weather was cold and my a/c was off. (this was not the first time I went to tagaytay using the i10) After resting for 30-45 mins and added some distilled water (just to be sure, level from reserve was not even low), everything started ok and was able to Batangas and back without any problem. So I think it was an overheating issue, but was not sure if i10s are smart enough to shut down before it gets any worse.

I have a 2011 i10 and it is still under warranty pa. But what's bothering me eh yung tunog like nabasang fan belt everytime na i start yung auto every morning, mawawala after ulitin pero babalik ulit once na start ulit after several hours na naka park.

After ma-adjust yung tension, ok na ulit... Sinikipan nila yung sa alternator at aircon na belts... Sa Hyundai Baliwag nga pala ito. Sinabay ko sa 40k PMS. Total damage nga pala sa 40k PMS, 15431php. Palit ng spark plug, air filter, coolant, automatic transmission fluid, break fluid, engine oil, oil filter, complete body wash (pati pang-ilalim), aircon filter.

O in the long run mas ok pa din pag casa maintained?

Maybe the i10 has a fail safe mechanism that prevents the engine from overheating thats why it stops in that manner? So far I noticed na tuwing nakastop or magpapark ( just like you mentioned ) saka lang siya mamamatay, not the time na nagmomove ang sasakyan. So far tuwing paakyat lang ang incident na ganon and not on an even road. Wala naman naging problem ang i10 ko after that day and still working well. But weather its a safety feature or a mechanical problem based on the engine design that we wont know. As long na di magkaproblem ang i10 and di mapagastos yun and importante.
