I think the older CR-V is K-series, but SOHC head... I'll have to look to make sure.
The new R-series is designed to be more efficient than the K-series.

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
the gen2 crvhas a 2.0L DOHC engine, while the gen3 crv has an SOHC engine for the 2.0L variants. only the 2.4L gets the DOHC engine for the 07 model.
in one word: bad. i haven't actually measured it, pero i'm guessing somewhere in the low 6 km/l range. the only way you're going to feel good is if your neighbor is driving a dodge durango (3.5 km/l)![]()
(no offense to durango owners please -- just trying to inject some humor in my post)
It's somewhere between 6-7 if it's the 2.0, I believe... but really bad traffic can drag you down into the 5's.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Bad. Very Bad. I get 6 km/l City. I'm itching to junk this car.
CRV? Never Again!
i cant understand why hondas here in d phils. are gas hungry. In d U.S., when it comes to fuel efficiency, honda is always one of them.
They're not gas hungry per se... but Metro Manila traffic is terrible. Typically, fuel consumption in the Philippines is about 20% worse than in the US because of the traffic, road conditions, generally low speeds, and heat.
The only time I match my car's city EPA figure is on the highway. The only time I match the highway EPA figure is on three to four hour trips on the NLEX at three to six in the morning.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Mine gets 4km/l to 5km/l on a good day. Good thing I disposed of it last year. And Im never buying a CRV again unless they change that K series engine.
Thanks for the informative info. I'm planning to buy kasi choices ko ford expedition 03, pajero 03 & the honda crv 03. Big deal sakin yung fuel consumption![]()
With the 2.0-liter, an automatic gets about 6.0 km/l in the city, while a manual does about 6.5... at least, for ours
i was planning to get 2003 CRV and thanks to this thread, well informed na ko sa lakas ng consumo sa gasolina ng CRV, nasanay na kasi ko sa corolla ko, im just curiuos... anyone here considered converting it to LPG? i have read the LPG thread here and seems like ok naman magpa convert sa LPG, sa tingin nyo guys, would it have a problem with the CRV?
Guys i want to know the fuel consumption of your FD's. I don't care kung may elephantiasis mga paa nyo. Just please state the model (1.8S or V, 2.0) and tranny....Thanks Civic people...
Mods pakimerge nalang pag meron ng ganito...TIA
1.8V A/T I get around 10.50-11km/L using regular unleaded mixed driving around 10% highway 75% city 15% stop and go traffic....
