one time coming from baguio, nearinf balinttawak pa lang grabe na ang trapik sa nlex. so gapang until i reached balintawak cloverleaf-edsa. along edsa was also grabe ang trapik. when i saw 3 mmda right along the cloverleaf, tinabihan ko at tinigilan, sabay open ng window sa front passenger side. sinigawan ko 3 dahil tawanan lang natawanan eh buhol-buhol na ang trapik. nagkaripasan ng takbo back to the street to direct trapik.

bro, it's not courage. it's simply reminding them their job responsibility. any citizen can do that to any goverment employee to that matter. they get paid from our hard earned taxes not to play around.

Swerving is a sudden change of lane or change of two or more lanes. If you have signaled and change lane properly, it is not swerving. Unless you are in a no change lane zone.

Can someone help me on this? Around 6:43pm tonight, I was driving heading north bound of Edsa. I'm sure most of you noticed that when you reach the fly over near edsa shrine or robinsons, there wouldn't be any broken lines in the yellow lane which will lead to your surprise that there is a fence at your fron which will make you change lanes instantly. Heres what happened to me awhile ago...

About 500 meters away from the baricade, I had my signal lights on warning that I will go under the fly over. Since I'm not that familiar with Ortigas, I didn't know that theres no broken line in that area for me to go inside the yellow lane. Upon my surprise, the fence is already in front of me which I quickly changed lane to the right and that's where I got apprehended.

The officer is accusing me of disregard to something (I forgot the violation). I should have entered the yellow lane when I was still in Ortigas MRT. Here's my arguments:

    1. I had my signal lights on even at that area which means I am about to shift lanes heading for Meralco or c5. The reason I didnt change lane's because I'm looking for the broken line which is actually the right time for me to shift lanes.

    2. There was no public information that that part of Edsa is exempted from the usual yellow lane rule. As far as I know, I cannot go inside the yellow lane if its a straight line.

    3. Since it rained, the officer told me that he'll be listing my plate number so that I'll just have to settle it upon registration. (I was not given any ticket or written proof that I am being apprehended. And, I just got threatend that the officer might put false allegations if there is such thing)

Just to clarify it, I went to MMDA Guadalupe to inquire whether the officer can actually do such thing. according to one of the guards there, its a "no contact" apprehension which is actually allowed if the driver is arrogant and is resisting licence turnover.

I was not even being arrogant. I know I'm right and I'm stating my point. At one point the officer even told me: "Tama ka sir, dapat may broken line bago pumasok ng yellow lane..." pero doon daw sa may edsa shrine, kelangan sa may MRT station palang pumapasok na daw... (Does this make sense?)

Anyways, if the "no contact apprehension" is allowed, can somebody help me file a complaint regarding the allegations being charged on me? Who should I contact and what should I do?

On the solid white lines, I pulled the following from the LTO website:

    --------
Types and Meanings of Traffic Signs and Pavement Markings (second page)

    IV. Pavement Markings

Lines and symbols on roadways are used to warn and direct drivers and to control the flow of traffic.

    · WHITE LANE LINES

White lane lines are white lines separating lanes of traffic moving in the same direction. Crossing of solid white line requires special care and is discouraged.

A solid broken white line means passing to the left or right is allowed provided the way is clear.

    · YELLOW LANE LINES

Yellow lane lines are dividing lines separating traffic traveling opposite directions.

A solid yellow line at the left lane means, it is not safe to pass.

A broken yellow line means passing is allowed if the way ahead and rear is clear.

Solid double yellow lines at the left lane mean it is unsafe to pass. Never cross it to pass another vehicle. The line maybe crossed only to enter or leave a driveway or private road or to make a permitted "U" turn.
    ---------

The bottomline is that crossing along a solid white line is discouraged, and not prohibited. At least that's how I interpreted it.

I haven't been to the MMDA head office yet but I believe you should also place your complaint there however you should be able to take note of the name of the apprehending officer so you could address your issues there.

eto lang ang style dyan. all you need is 2 things 1)lakas ng loob 2)cellphone
