Pedestrian critical in San Juan accident. (Involving Montero Sport)

tapos di man lang makukulong yung drunk driver. at dadaanin lang sa areglo. dapat yan may batas na pag naging invalid ang victim at yung driver e lasing e habang buhay na sustento, like 50/50 sila sa income ng naka-aksidente for life.

I saw it sa news, napadaan din ako sa wilson kanina ang haba pala ng inararo nung montero no wonder wasak talaga. The nerve pa nung relative nung drunk driver to say na "huwag mag alala sasagutin namin lahat ng gastusin". The sad part is mapuputulan na ata ng legs yun lalaki due to his injuries. Dapat lifetime na sustento yan, isama pa yung support sa family nung victim since he is incapable of doing physical work. Right place at the wrong time, akalain mo nasa sidewalk ka na masasagasaan ka pa?

napanood ko lang rin kagabi and kakaawa dahil nasa bangketa na nga inabot pa. okay lang kung tilapon pero naipit yun tsk tsk. nung hinatak yung monty kalas pati rear left mags....malakas salpok nun!

kawawa nga iyong biktima. lamog talaga siya sabi nung katrabaho niya tapos buntis pa naman daw iyong asawa. dapat nga hindi lang iyong pang-ospital ang pag gastusan nung pamilya nung naka montero :nonono:

Napaisip nga ako bakit pati gulong niya nakalas.

nakaka awa naman. mas bata pa sa bunso kong kapatid pero nagbabanat buto na ganyan pa inabot. Put*ngin* nung naka montero na yan eh. Dapat sya ang sagasaan, mukhang sakit sa ulo ang tao na yan!

dapat kahit hindi pursue ng family ng victim yun case, police ang magsampa ng kaso

Just commenting. Attitudes like this ......... and we wonder why bus companies prefer to make sure any pedestrians they have an accident with should be dead on the spot.

attitudes like this? what's wrong with it GH? what is wrong with punishing the criminal?

make the punishment graduated. pag inatrasan ng bus ang victim then confiscate all the assets of the bus company and its owners. and make them illegible to conduct any business relating to transportation ever again. and the driver and company owner goes to jail for a very long time. the only way a law becomes a deterrent is when the punishment is so harsh that it becomes unthinkable for the would-be criminal to commit the crime. remember the death penalty?

An accident is an accident. We don't have to treat it like a life-time sentence for punishment. Doing so is like giving every tom dick and harry out there a free meal ticket. These would include pedestrians, cyclists, motorcycle riders, tricycle riders, etc. In the end, where do you draw the line?

Emotions and morals aside, given if you have the choice of supporting a handicapped person for the rest of his natural life (while being in jail, etc) versus paying for the funeral and some monetary reparations to the grieving family, many people might go with the second choice.

My opinions may not be popular with you and other people but deciding while emotionally attached to the issue is never the best.

I kind of agree with this. Wag naman sana habang buhay. But I also agree that the victim should be paid proper damages including those lost of any justifiable opportunities secondary to his would be disabilities or otherwise after the accident and hospitalization of course. That should be just. Pero wag naman ipa-buhay sa driver eh di sana tinuluyan na lang nya yun.

Nakulong ba for "Reckless imprudence," etc yung naka Montero? Kasi pag jeepney driver or truck driver kulong agad.

dapat tulad sa US ang batas, the potential to earn ng tao ang babayaran mo, automatic kaltas sa sweldo para siguradong masusuntentuhan yung biktima o pamilya ng naulila. Aside from the driver, ang dapat rin managot ay owner ng vehicle, same way that if you lend a gun you own eh makadisgrasya yung owner ang mananagot. para bus owner ang bayad sa mga naaaksidente ng driver nila.

noong nasa america ako laging yung pinaka mataas na third party payout na kaya ng bulsa namin ang kinukuha namin ng mga barkada kong filipinos dahil mahigpit ang batas sa accident against person, maumulubi ka kapag maaksidente ka.

pero dapat rin timbangin kung sino ang may kasalanan, tulad ng gingawa nila sa singapore. kapag tumawid ka sa illegal ng tawiran sa singapore at makitang walang negligence sa driver side walang matatanggap ang nabundol kahit katiting.

sir for sure yung naka Montero ang may kasalanan. Inararo nya ang side walk eh. bibihira na nga lang ang marunong maglakad sa sidewalk na-trauma pa nya.

He should have not been driving under influence. The car should not have been there at that place and time if he wasn't drinking and driving.

It's not a free ticket. Are you willing to give up your two feet, face and teeth for a lifetime financial support? I think not.

Maluwag talaga sa drunk driving ang pinas.

Sa mga nahuli lasing dapat cancel na license hindi na pwede magdrive ulit sa pilipinas.

Kaso wala naman breath analyzer dito.

Gigimik sa republic......iinom ng jacoke tapos sasayaw.....kikilala ng mga chiching tapos yayain na magpahinga. Lalabas ng club pagewang-gewang pa. Sasakay na sa kotse para magdrive tapos biglang makakabanga!!! (Motel na napurnada pa!)

OT:

Guilty ako sa driving under the influence of alcohol. At one point I was so drunk, huminto ako dun mismo sa harap ng police outpost sa may Bacoor para makigamit ng comfort room.

Hindi naman ako sumuka dun sa banyo nila, naghilamos lang ako para mahimasmasan. Nung paglabas ko, sabi ni sarhento,

"ser mukhang napasarap inom natin sa christmas party ah?"
"oo nga eh, pasensya na ha, alam ko naman na bawal magmaneho na lasing, pero wala choice, ako lang mag-isa umuwi ngayon"
"ok lang yan ser, basta marahan lang ang takbo natin para iwas disgrasya. naintindihan naman namin na halos lahat na tao ngayon ay may mga christmas party, kaya ho naka-alerto din kami"

As I went back to my car after thanking them;

"ser, kung gusto nyo po e-escortan po namin kayo pauwi sa bahay ninyo"

And they did ... much to the horror of my wife who thought I was in trouble. When things were explained, she gave them each a bottle of wine and keso de bola. I bet they'll be back again this coming Christmas .. :grin:
