Just last week, i lost it and really confronted one of these bus drivers on Santolan - EDSA (since i was stuck beside him in traffic). All the cars were lined up to go under the flyover during the morning rush (i myself included) and then you have a Mayamy bus coming from the 3rd lane (outside the yellow lane) and he bullied himself into the bus lane just at the base of the flyover. When i opened my window and asked the conductor why they did that, his reasoning was that the line was backed up daw and there was no other way in. Eh ogags pala siya, he was supposed be in that line from the beginning and never went out of the yellow lane (which i told him with some commonly used expletives).

I just couldnt help it as i saw that bus bully their way in and in the process, he caused traffic that was going straight on EDSA to back up because he blocked out one whole lane.

Not sure.

Hindi lang naman kasi sila gumagamit nung yellow lane, add the private vehicles that pass through it.

Then they "reintroduced" the yellow lane, so-so success as usual. Wait for another bus-induced accident para gumana yung creative juices ni Tolentino...

Buses are now poking into the 3rd lane once again (OFTEN HAPHAZARDLY, as usual) and occasionally take up half of the 4th lane at speed when avoiding other buses.

Also noticed that when the traffic starts to crawl on the bus lanes, some [NON PROVINCIAL] buses start going up the flyovers/into tunnels yet again.

Plying along EDSA along the first week, I was eerily reminded of Hong Kong highways, where cars taking a certain route would only crowd (and in a very organized line) certain parts of the highway, leaving the others clear for other motorists to use.

Somehow, I wanted to hope these would work. Oh well.

Anyone seem to notice this too?
Main problem of the MMDA... no budget to maintain a single "road discipline" project for more than a week or so.

Secondary problem... too many buses on EDSA. You can throw out half the buses and still have enough left over for an efficient mass transport system.

What's the latest news with the buses on EDSA? Is anyone doing anything to reduce their number? Or sinabi lang nila na "we have 12,000 buses on EDSA" but ultimately do nothing about it?

the main problem is they have common routes.

whatever route the operator applies, LTFRB just approve it.

    it should be connect-connect.
