    Restrictions:

    Restriction 1 - Motorcycles/Motorized Tricycles
Restriction 2 - Vehicle up to 4500 kg Gross Vehicle Weight
Restriction 3 - Vehicle above 4500 kg Gross Vehicle Weight
Restriction 4 - Automatic Clutch up to 4500 kg Gross Vehicle Weight
Restriction 5 - Automatic Clutch above 4500 kg Gross Vehicle Weight
Restriction 6 - Articulated Vehicle 1600 kg Gross Vehicle Weight & Below
Restriction 7 - Articulated Vehicle 1601 kg up to 4500 kg Gross Vehicle Weight
Restriction 8 - Articulated Vehicle 4501 kg & above Gross Vehicle Weight

Its a Restriction, if you have number 4 it means you can ONLY drive Automatic Transmission up to 4500 kgs.

then you need have 2 with 4 so you can drive a manual car too. pero karamihan 1 and 2 lang pero they drive automatic cars diba dapat 1,2,4 pero di naman ata mahigpit sa ganun restrictions

restriction 2 allows you to drive AT or MT, up to 4500 kg.
restriction 4.. walter is right. you are allowed to drive only AT, up to 4500 kg. you are not allowed to drive MT.
restriction 1... is it true, it may be given on a whim, without benefit of evaluation? because if it is true, then that explains why there are so many mis...

I agree that Walter is right.

Restriction 2 states Vehicle which means both MT and AT
Restriction 4 is specific to AT only

Dini discuss po yan ng taga LTO bago ka isalang sa driving test. If you have restriction 2, pwede ka na mag drive ng MT and AT.

Tama yung explanation ni Walter pertaining to restriction 4.

The operative word is "RETRICTION". It prohibits you from doing something beyond what you are licensed for. So if you have restriction 4 in your license then you are RESTRICTED to driving an automatic vehicle up to 4500 kg. You may not drive a manual and/or a vehicle above 4500kg gross weight.

On the other hand if you have 1 and 2 you are restricted to driving motorcycles and vehicles above 4500 kg gross weight. It does not restrict you to doing anything else, so it means you can drive both a manual and an automatic.

Restriction 4 is for the handicapped, like if you have use of only 1 good leg. You can not drive a manual if you have only 1 good leg can you? So you are restricted to driving an automatic because you only need 1 leg to drive it. People who lost a leg, a polio victim or suffered a stroke fall under this category. People with decreased physical abilities, like the elderly, also fall under this category.

Nung unang kumuha ako ng license (1998) automatic yung 1 2 restriction ang binigay. so, yup, it is given kahit walang test test, dati ah, ewan ko ngayon. hehe

    Kulang naman kasi yung wording ng restriction 4 and 5,. Sa Drivers Application Form, and restrictions 4 and 5 ay described as;

Restriction 4 - Automatic Clutch ONLY Up To 4500 Kgs. GVW
Restriction 5 - Automatic Clutch ONLY Above 4500 Kgs. GVW
