Those that park on a no-parking zone, then makes the road more narrower and this starts a reaction that leads to a 20 minute bottle-neck.

In Metro Manila take your pick. My uncle who lives in Europe summed it up nicely: Wow, everything goes on your roads. He was asking me why we didn't seem to have any rules.

Kulang kasi tayo sa huli. I bet if traffic police issued TVRs for every violation everyone will seem like an angel on the road.

^So commuters waiting for PUJs won't be blinded by headlight glare so they can see the route markers placed on the jeepney's windshield. It's a stupid "work-around".

They usually have poor charging from their alternators. Kaya nagtitipid sa kuryente. Hehe. Also, shutting off their headlights make their signboards more visible.

Just 2 days ago I was driving along sucat road, 3-lane na road yun. I was at the middle lane and I saw a lancer on my left signaling that he wanted to go to my lane. Since I was in no hurry, I allowed him to.

He was decideing pa yata whether to go to a gasoline station on the right or not. He was holding up traffic at the back dahil may jeepney naman sa right ko.

What I did was flash him twice to remind him people were waiting.

Ayun, kumanan naman tapos binaba yung window nya and started shouting at me.

I just thought, grabe yun a.

Sana nakuha mo an make/model at plate number....

Along the Hi-way ayaw tumabi sa kanan ang slower moving vehicle.

I agree that during severe weather (heavy downpours, foggy conditions or snow in some countries), visibility is improved when hazard lights are on compared to just tailights. However, it is best during inclement weather (when you can't see at least two car lengths away) to pull-over the shoulder stop the vehicle and switch on the hazards.

It becomes dangerous and confusing when the motorist, who continues to drive with hazards on, intends to switch lanes, exit (in tollways) or turn into a street.

Tailights are sufficient enough for me to see the vehicle in front of me and headlights or foglights on for me to see the vehicle in the rear. We should turn our hazards on when the vehicle is not in motion, specifically, parked by the shoulder, having mechanical problems and/or, during accidents.

its ok to use your hazard lights for more visibility, but dont change lanes to often when on hazard lights, you'll be leaving fast approaching vehicles from behind you clueless of your intention.

on the nlex, they actually advise you to turn on your hazards during heavy downpour. nakapost sa mga tollgates nila

Yes sir, I noticed the signs. Perhaps the NLEX was ill-advised.

At SLEX, during "organized" counterflows, motorists are advised to switch on their hazards. I think the SLEX authorities are also ill-advised. I can see very clearly vehicles in the opposite direction with just their headlights on.

I don't want to sound argumentative but I think hazards should be turned on while the vehicle is not in motion.

    • Using the hazard light to 'disable' traffic rules - Want to counterflow? Use the hazard lights. Want to swerve? Aba eh.. i-hazard na yan. Want to text while driving? Ha-ha-ha-hazard! Want to wait at a no-parking-zone? Hhhhhazard lights lang ang sagot diyan. Oh... and if you want to follow an ambulance, don't forget to switch on your hazard lights na din. Using the hazard light will make it alright...
    • Using hand signals to disregard or violate right of way - Want to cross the intersection even if you don't have the right of way? Easy-- just use your hand signal! Using your hand signal will make things right.
    • Overstaying at a drop-off point - When you're dropping off passengers, that's the time when you have to give tons of last minute instructions and say your goodbyes. Maybe you'll stay at the drop-off point for 5 minutes. Okay lang... let the other drivers wait for their turn. Hindi na baleng mag back up yung pila. TAPOS -- once you've dropped off your passengers -- aba, mag se-swerve pa (with accompanying hazard or hand signal)
    • The High Beam Game - You come face to face with some idiot with headlights brighter than the sun. You blink your high lights to tell that idiot to tone down his/her lights. No reply. You then switch on your high beam -- magbulagan na tayo. Aba! The driver switches off his/her high beam and uses the normal lights. You return the favor and go back to normal beam. As soon as you go back to normal beam, the a-hole goes back to high beam.

i dont do that high beam game, i just slow down and take precaution. i just let the idiot think that his high beam is alright until he will actually have a head on collision with someone idiot too like him.

maybe those stupid didnt know that they are actually endangering themselves with those high beam.

These types of encounters usually happen in my subdivision (scouts area).

Anyway, one time, I was trying to park in my garage. I flashed my lights and the idiot turned low beam. Okay na. A couple of seconds later -- nag high beam na naman. Flashed my lights again, and he goes low beam, then a couple of seconds later, high beam na naman.

Once I finished parking in the garage, I went out and confronted the driver. Ayun! Siya pa yung galit. Know what he said to me?

"Kita mo na ngang madilim ang tint ko at nahihirapan ako makakita, gusto mo pang pahinaan yung ilaw ko? Ano bang gusto mo? Gusto mo bang makabunggo ako ng ibang kotse o tao dahil hindi ko siya nakita dahil mahina ilaw ko?"

No use arguing with a walnut brain like that.
