Report: A group of gun-toting men fences in an SUV on EDSA today | TopGear.com.ph

This afternoon, a female motorist tweeted the above photo with the following caption: "People with guns on EDSA." The person has since taken down the post, and it appears she has also deactivated her Twitter account (at least for now).

The photo shows a group of gun-toting men alighting from what appear to be three vehicles and surrounding a lone SUV. They were all pointing their guns at the SUV.

Nobody seems to know what exactly happened. Was it a case of road rage? If so, how come three vehicles--all with armed men as passengers--were involved in chasing one SUV? Was this a planned entrapment? Were the men law-enforcement officers? Or were they criminals carrying out a, well, crime?

    The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports:

A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase officer, who requested anonymity, told Inquirer.net over the phone that reports reached their office that a closed van collided with a Hi-Ace van between EDSA-Ortigas and Santolan. The officer said local MMDA traffic enforcers helped in assisting the apparent road rage incident.

These are indeed dangerous times we live in. Be very careful out there. You never know who might cut you in the middle of the road.
Saw this yesterday afternoon, but was hoping to hear something about it later in the day. Parang wala pa din.

Hearing some reports that it was an abduction/kidnapping. Scary if indeed true.

And what's taking the authorities so long to release a statement?!

Nag iingat ang mga pulis patola natin at baka kabaro nila ang involved -- less words less mistake.

C'mon, PNP, 3 days after the incident and you are still cluless? Sino niloloko niyo?

Baka bodyguards ito ng pulitiko na involved sa isang traffic altercation? Worse, kidnapping nga in broad daylight.

Indeed this has a chilling effect on every law abiding citizen. Wala nang kriminal ang natatakot sa mga awtoridad natin. Naghari-harian na sila sa lansangan ng Pilipinas, gabi man o araw.

^ Yeah that too. Pero pinatay. WTF?!

There's another source from the side of the security forces saying that the Edsa incident was an apprehension. But it's a wonder why, despite getting called by Karen Davila and JV Ejercito, they can't put a definitive spin on it.

It's not a wonder na pala. Tsk tsk!

Kung totoong kidnapping yan, grabe na sa lakas ng loob ng mga yan. In a busy moving EDSA on broad daylight? At talagang may posas pa yung isa ha. Wag naman sana na yan yung isa sa mga 'legal' na kidnapping funded by big people.

The head of Mandaluyong PNP should be kicked out.
