Global recalls vs. Cover up!

At least may recall ngayon ang Mitsubishi Motors. Kaya nabulok yung reputation ng MMC dahil sa coverup nila dati.

Mitsubishi was twice forced to admit to systematically covering up defect problems in its vehicles. Four defects were first publicized in 2000, but in 2004 it confessed to 26 more going back as far as 1977, including failing brakes, fuel leaks and malfunctioning clutches. The effect on the company was catastrophic, forcing it to recall 163,707 cars (156,433 in Japan and 7,274 overseas) for free repair.

For everyone information: By November 2000, seatbelts in the market, must bear the Philippine Standard (PS) or Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) Marks. Failure of the manufacturer and the importer to comply with the requirements of the standard; and of the distributor and retailer to distribute and sell only seatbelts with the PS and ICC Marks, is punishable by law, in accordance with DAO 3:2000. With the scheme, the buying public is assured of safety and quality with the seals of reliability - the PS and ICC Marks.

Actually napansin ko na yung date talaga since we bought the car years back. Nagtaka din ako. Kasi nga naman, sa i10 namin 08/2008 yung date. Tapos sa fuzion somewhere in the '90s.
Pero ngayon mas pagtutuunan pa namin ng pansin yung recall kaysa yang seatbelt na yan no. To be honest, yung Fuzion namin yung pinaka abused na car namin.
Last PMS nya was done last 2009 pa. Outside casa! Just imagine na lang kung gaano ka-desperate yung car for a tune-up. Pero, daily driver pa rin sya ng dad ko and every weekend, pinupuntahan nila ako dito sa Manila to visit me. (I'm in college na kasi). Point is, it's still matibay nonetheless. Some are laughing, "Taiwan kasi." Duh, like it matters naman kung saan gawa yung car.

yun nga, sa tagal na, I can't even recall kung anong oil yung nasa car na yun.

Yes baka ipa-PMS na rin nyan once dalhin na sya sa casa because of the recall.
