why RUSSIAN CARS is not being introduced here in the Philippines?

I don't think "maganda" would be the word for russian cars.

"Joke" would be a more appropriate word for it.

Google Yugo and you'll have an idea of what a Russian car is like. Yugo may not be Russian but it's exactly like the cars made by the communist block may even be above average. Ever see the Russian President riding in a Russian limo? He rides a Mercedes.

I don't think we're a viable market for the Russian auto makers, besides we don't even have much diplomatic relations with Russia.

The only other manufacturers still selling cars this dated in the Philippines are the Chinese. Want something that feels Russian? Go look for remainder Chery Cowins or a secondhand Daewoo... :grin:

Para kaseng China made rin yung mga Auto nila kaya siguro wala. Maganda siguro kung mag donate na lang sila ng kanilang mga tanke sa bansa natin para makasali na tayo sa Command & Conquer Red Alert...:grin:

Lada Niva is not bad at all. Very dependable, but it's a terrible gas-guzzler. Among other Lada cars, I only know the Samara (supposed to be based in the Fiat Ritmo floorpan) and the Laika (a copy of the Fiat 124). The Samara is worse than a current Chinese car, while the Laika is scheduled to be replaced by the Renault-based Granta. I would expect the Granta to be a reasonable vehicle, but not so cost-effective in the Philippines as the Chinese ones...

And those were the "nice" European cars.

The small operations that were importing them here couldn't compete on an even footing with Korean and Japanese-made rivals. Just imagine Russian cars hit with the ridiculous costs of importation... Chinese or mid-level Korean quality for Japanese price or higher... it'd bomb pretty quickly.
