Interesting stuff. Based on how much improvement the Mustang has undergone over the past couple of generations, I think there's a good chance Ford will have another hit with the 2015. Still not sure I can wait 1 1/2 to 2 years, so I'll just steel my decision and go for the currently available model. I really don't mind the live rear axle and the handling seemed good enough on the test drive for my purposes. Not planning to track it or mod it much. Mostly for cruising and spirited driving on occasion.

Buy a 2013 Mustang GT, then in a few years upgrade to a 2015 if you like it. :D

I was also able to test drive the Mustang GT at Bonifacio Global City last August, my test unit was the red one.
The Live axle rear suspension should be fine for normal real world driving.

Speaking of Spirited Driving, the live axle rear suspension is actually good on smooth tracks and other bump-free surfaces.
Weaknesses? Probably going fast on bumpy roads/ twisty bumpy roads, but most say that the current Mustang's live axle rear suspension is probably the best of its kind after years of tweaking.

Yeah! In fact, I'll probably keep the 2013 longer, then think of upgrading 2016-17. That'll give some time for Ford to work out the kinks in the first run of 2015 production vehicles. Probably then there'll also be a mid-gen refresh/minor design update by then.

A lot of european cars and sports cars use a repair kit to reduce weight and save space.

Yeah, no spare tire for the Mustang here. My 2010 Subaru Legacy GT didn't come with a spare tire either. Same type of repair kit instead. As jUs- said above, it's normal for some types of cars.

And as for the GPS, yes, the nav system in the Mustang doesn't work for the Philippines (yet). I put that in parenthesis because there's a chance, however slim, that it might down the line if Ford releases some applicable software (or if some third party takes care of it instead).

*gtvguy: I haven't inquired at Ford regarding that, but the repair kit being a temporary fix probably means the tpms will have to be reset after the tire is changed or fixed.

In my years of owning the Subaru LGT, I never had to use the repair kit and it didn't have a tpms, so no feedback there, sorry.

ok thanks kasi when i test drove a mustang sa ford alabang the unit had an exclamation point warning showing up near the speed gauges the agent told me it was because of the tpms sensor daw, the tires look ok but the exclamation point warning is still showing up

I test drove that same unit and also noticed that. That's because the tires aren't the same as the stock ones, according to the sales rep. The tpms wasn't reset for whatever reason. I haven't heard any problems from other Mustang owners.

Crossdx, how much faster is the mustang than our Legacy GTs in real world everyday driving conditions? Hows the torque?

kaya pala iba yung mags nitong testdrive unit nila, but that's weird yung may ari nitong test drive unit is yung owner ng ford alabang so any time man lang sana ipa reset na tpms sensor sa mechanics nila para mawala yung annoying exclamation point warning, ask ko lang din may club ba mga mustang owners sa philippines?, wala ko makita searched google and fb already

*EQAddict: My Mustang GT is being released later this week yet, so I can only give you initial impressions based on my 40 minute or so test drive. I'll give an update once I get it in and get to spend more quality time with my new 'baby'. I'd say the first thing you notice off the bat is the torque. Immediate, plentiful and spread all the way across the range. This makes it feel quite a bit quicker than the LGT, especially for me since I was already used to waiting for the turbo to spool up and feel that familiar kick once it hits the sweet spot.

*gtvguy: hehe, I'm not sure why they don't do something about it, tbh. Maybe I'll ask the next time I pass there. Baka hindi lang kinukulit ng mga nag-tetest drive, so they don't feel the need to do anything. lol

When I take delivery of my car, I'll inquire if they have a Mustang owner's club in the area and post back here. According to an article I read in a newspaper, there have been approximately 190+ sales of combined V6 and V8 in the entire country since launch last year, so there's bound to be a club out there.

Good choice on the black! The slickest looking color for a Mustang, imo. I think you can't go wrong either way. White stripes would be a nice contrast, or go for the all black look with tints if that's your thing.

The chances of FGP selling the Shelby 500 Mustang are slim...

Both the 3.7 Liter V6 and 5 Liter V8 variants are pretty good!
