    My 2009 Ford Focus Trend 1.8 MT (already at 5,000+ odometer reading) is consuming between:

    1) City driving: 9.7 km/liter to 10.7 km/liter normally running between 80kph to 130kph
    2) Highway driving: 13.7km/liter-15km/liter running between 100kph to 180kph (SCTEX)

    To attain an optimize the fuel consumption (from Ford manual), you should be running between 1,500 rpm to 2,500 rpm.

    They are advertising that Ford Focus can attain 16.7km/liter. I think this is attainable if you will fully maintain a speed of 80kph-90kph without aircon, hehehe

    Need your input guys. I'm considering buying a Ford Escape. What's your average FC for pure city driving? how about hi-way driving? I have to decide soon because I need a car during the holy week going to the provice. Thanks a lot.

    @bzguru10:

    I have a 2010 4x2 XLT Limited Escape with just about less than 2K km odometer reading so medyo mataas pa daw talaga yung FC. For me, mixed-city and highway, Las Pinas-Makati routine ko pag weekdays, so puro traffic sa SLEX, then weekends usually Cavite, Tagaytay or Nasugbu, so madalas hataw mode, on the average nasa 6-9 Km/Li. According to other escape owners, bababa daw yun up to around 10-12 Km/Li later on. Anyway, escape's FC naman, if you may want to consider it as high, translates also to high torque/power, so if it's part of your criteria in choosing your next car, medyo may advantage yung escape dito. Just my two cents.

    nasa 1k+++ pa lang ako with my escape. mixed driving nsa 6-7 km/L lang malakas sa gas pag city driving, meaning madalas up to 40kph stop and go. for hi way medyo tipid naman kasi ung 200km travelled sa hi way, less than half tank lang nauubos. pagbalik sa city ubos na yung natira in less than 100 km travelled hehehe. from full tank to low fuel indicator-- 350km lang kaya, mixed driving yun
