This may be effective on racecars or commercial vehicles, but if you regularly check your street car’s tires like you’re supposed to, you shouldn’t have to worry about the tires losing air.

Also, regular checks give you a chance to inspect for nails, staples or metal fragments that may be dangling out of your tire.

Here's our fuel consumption on our road trip using a 1.6 Fiesta Sedan PS with a total of four passengers:

From Quezon city, we were supposed to go to Tagaytay to break in the Fiesta. Unfortunately, traffic was so terrible at Laguna Bel Air. It was hardly moving. After quite sometime, we just decided on a joy ride towards Nlex via C5 and reached as far as Pampanga before we turned back to Quezon city. Total kilometers traveled was 235.8. Total fuel (Petron Blaze - refilled at the same gas pump) consumed was 17.07 liters. Highest speed was 100kph but mostly staying around 80-90kph. So that's about 13.8137 km/l. Not bad for a brand new car. Next time we will try mostly city driving to see how it fares.

May I add that driving the Fiesta is a really great experience. My wife enjoyed driving it too. I've never seen a subcompact that handles this good. I think Ford hit the gold mine with this vehicle.

Not bad at all if part of that was in horrible SLEX traffic. If you want to go to Tagaytay... don't do it on a weekend... grabe ang traffic talaga.

Guys, after your full tank, what does your Distance-To-Empty meter show? Yung akin parang 280kms lang.

If this poor performance continues, I may have to reset the ECU (removing fuse for ECU).

    I have the Sport (1.6L Ti-VCT with 6-speed Powershift).
After 17 days and 275.8 kms, I've had my 3rd full tank. I'm glad to report that my load of 37.93 liters yields a slightly improved FC of 7.27 kms/liter. That's 0.41 kms/liter more than my previous full tank. Still lower than expected, but I've already started to change my daily route. So I'm hoping to get further improvements in the future.

*rogie, I use Petron Xtra Unleaded fuel only.

2nd refuel result... Same Petron Xtra Unleaded on the same pump from the 1st fillup...

    Total Tripmeter = 283.7km
    Total Liters = 31.18
    Fuel Consumption = 9.1km/L

So a little improvement from the previous 8.89km/L

... and i thought, after reading all the posts here, that my fc is not that good, considering it's a 5 year old, 1.6 liter sedan.

i usually get 10km per liter pure city driving (pasig to makati and back, for a total of 24++ kms, everyday, five days a week)

for highway trips, i usually get 14km per liter (bataan via nlex-sctex and back, for a total of 340++ kms) and considering that i have 4 adult passengers and a cooler full of talaba at the back. we get to travel once every two months or so.

there was one holy week in the past that i drove 160 kph whenever i can. it's not spirited but i don't stop speeding up until i reach 160 kph. almost ran the whole stretch of the sctex (around 40 kms) at that speed, only slowing to 100 kph if i see a traffic patrol on the side. i evenraced (technically) an accent crdi from san fernando exit to dau exit, haha... same 4 passengers pa din and cooler full of talaba. gave me 12.60 kms per liter. it was very vivid because it was the first time i drove at that speeds.

i've recorded my fuel consumption for the past three years (saved in an excel file hehehe) and the general average is 10.25 km per liter.

though i'm not sure if the pure unleaded (93 ethanol-free gasoline) i use skews the figures, but the bottom line, it's fuel efficient for its class.

i gas up almost about the same time (between 6-7 am) on the same pump, on the same gas station, madalas same attendant pa hehe, when my gas tank reaches or is near the half mark.

Mukang totoo nga yung highway mileage na sinasabi sa US... I think that is really where the 6 speed Powershift really shines...

Come to think of it kasi, kung Sport sya that's a 1.6 L you're carrying so medyo malakas talaga sya sa gasolina compared sa 1.3 or 1.5 na makina.

Also, if you say na hindi sya as fuel efficient as other subcompacts in its class, may maisa-suggest pa ba kayong ibang sasakyan that newbie car buyers like me would like to consider? Maikukumpara mo ba sya sa let's say Suzuki Swift o Hyundai Getz? Para sa akin kasi kahit sabihin nila na matipid ang mga iyon sa gasolina eh lamang pa rin ang Fiesta!

    * Romeo Alfa - 1 passenger and a trunk full of bags

    * tidus - yup, i agree. talaga efficiency killer ang traffic ng city

    * kevo888 - not sure about the entire trip, since i was resetting the meter per "station". last month i travelled, it was about mid-13's total, i think this trip should be higher since there was less traffic from pampanga to sison

Just want to share you this mileage, first time I get a single digit (sans the decimals ) on a L/100km basis... Of course all city and same route... So far I am on my 3rd tank since I bought the car and the 2nd picture is my tripmeter so far for this 3rd tank... This early I can already smell improvement and that double digit km/L hehehehe

    Baguio - Cavite (6pm-12mn):

    Total Average Fuel consumption: 14.92km/li

Better than my mid-13's last time. But that could be due to:
    1. mid-13s was measured heading UP to Baguio
    2. Traffic was worse

    Still a good number nonetheless
