I dunno against Fortuner since I have only riden one and not driven one but against Santa Fe I felt the Santa Fe was more eager than the Everest. Eager in the sense na pag inapakan mo yung gas parang gusto talaga nyang humarurot, even though 2.2L lang sya. The Everest felt heavy against the Santa Fe when I tested it. The low displacement of the Santa Fe might also be good news when fuel consumption is a concern. But buy what floats your boat, the Everest didn't really floated mine. But to be fair, Everest is more value for money the Santa Fe is expensive since its Korea CBU.

Performance-wise, my Eve is well tested almost two years na siya no headaches, very good engine, no major maintenance whatsoever, the looks? ...simple lang maintain ko siyang stock.

Finally if you decided that it's for you... then use the Eve wisely and efficiently - the resale value will be compensated.
tyeeyoh: thanks! the purpose of the car (Eve if ever) is for long/out of town trips.

kaya ko rin po natanong kung meron sa inyong nakasubok na umakyat ng baguio gamit ang Eve niyo.

    Hi Cheri,

IMO, parang malaki for you ang Everest. First car mo, tapos you are alone most of the time, baka hindi ka mag-enjoy sa city driving kasi hindi madali mag-drive ng 2.5tonner, 5 meter long na sasakyan. Baka mas fit sa needs mo ang Escape (or CRV, Tucson, Xtrail, Vitara, Outlander). If I were in your shoes, I'll probably get the Outlander....bangis ng looks

Kung gusto mo talaga malalaking sasakyan, you won't go wrong with the Everest. Kahit bugbugin mo sa gamit, hindi ka ipapahiya. Hindi ka magsisisi. Kayang kaya ng Everest akyatin ang Baguio...kahit dalhin mo pa sa Ilocos kaya nya.

Of course there are other brands that you can try. I believe others have given their input na (Sta Fe, Fortuner, Montero, etc). Ok din itong mga brands na ito....bottom line is really your preference

    Enjoy car hunting.

You're welcome Ms Cheri... just click page 7 of this Ford Everest thread and see some earlier discussion of some owners going to Baguio.

If you want to know more tips and tricks for your eve maam, visit www.fordclubph.com

As for the eve's performance, there's none to talk about, very powerful engine, downside is the weight.. More or less 2.6 tons which is a lot.. So driving it won't be a walk in the park, with its long nose and long body.. It will not be easy especially in Edsa.. But then again, space isn't a concern, loading capacity isn't bad either.. Sta fe is expensive compared to the everest.. But then again, the everest is a true 4x4.. Sta fes' tend to be used in city driving with occasional off roads, but the everest is tested and proven.. With it's high ground clearance and the amount of torque its produces.. Fit it with AT or MT tires and your good to go.. By the way, I got a 3.0 4x4 everest.. Suspension wise, the eve will definitely lose to the Sta fe though.. But then again, with the Sta fe's price, it doens't justify buying one..

At the end of the day maam, its up to you.. The eve has more space, average fuel consumption and hauls a lot of stuff.. And and did I mention how good you will look if your driving one, think about it, a girl driving a large truck..

Just met my new black mica during my recent vacation in PH. It was a best buy indeed dahil sulit ang rides aside from comfort, kompletos recados pa. I took it agad for long haul driving, super galing ng power at comfort, hindi man lang sumakit katawan ko sa long drive.
The only disadvantage is the position of "shift-on-fly switch" (for shifting 4x2 to 4x4) nito, which I found as not child friendly dahil madali itong makalikot ng mga kids. Dangerous ito if ever accidentally shifted while driving on high gear, dapat lng extra attention always. In fact, I suggested to my wife to remove na lang ang switch to avoid unintentional shifting and to reinstall whenever the need arises.
Aside from that, ok lahat and I love the ride when the engine automatically shifts into over drive.

    yep we did last year
gulat ako cause our long time driver took 4 or 4.5 hours to baguio, tulog ako pero i secretly recorded the trip. Kennon Road pa kami dumaan, mejo amoy gulong lng siguro sa bilis magdrive.

All in all malakas ang hatak, 4 adults, 3 teens and 1 driver. Puno pa ung likod pagbaba namin

Tested na mejo tipid siya pag long driving compared sa city driving Its also our first car and pinagpraktisan din kaya mejo madaming damages before my big Bro and i started to learn driving

Resale value - definitely mababa. Pero the reason why we got the everest is the space and a family suv. In my opinion lng - as long as anjan ung car, enjoy lng ang ride. Then maybe resell it in 5 years or 7, pero kame no plans hehe. Its our first car and i believe we'll just wait na magretire siya

Ours is the 2007 m/t running at 39,000 km na

    congrats to the new owners
    happy driving

Sa mga may ford eve, this is one highly recommended performance mod...

3 inch stainless exhaust. Complete bolt on from turbo back.

Gives faster acceleration throughout the power band. Estimated hp increase is from 10-15hp according to speedlab. Changed my air intake to K&N as well.

FC improved from 7-7.5km/L mixed city/hwy to 8-8.5km/L.

BTW, karl and brell, fordged ang handle ko sa FCP.

    PM kita about the price.

On idle, parang stock. Up the speed and there's just a low soft humming sound, parang vvvrrrrmmmmm (notice na walang "o" ) so tahimik din.
