being an owner of a 2004 1st gen everest 4x2, wala kaming masabi in terms of it's value....our unit clocked ~50thkm, and it is still running strong. lumusong na sa baha 3x sa kasagsagan ni milenyo, akyat sa mga island to avoid fallen trees, and many more....a good value for money indeed, pa-align lang ng mabuti ang front wheels as it seems to have been designed na parang volks, 1st gen specifically.
serviced by ford alabang since it hit 5thkm, very good service to our standard. in fact better than honda alabang if i relate it to the service of our other vehicle.
bumpy? yes on the 3rd row seat, but my small kids kinda like it on a short ride....but only for cargo on long drives.
being a family man, everest is a good buy.....if in case we will replace it, well get the new eve....

I'm also satisfied with the 2007 Everest, even fuel consumption is fine. However, the service of my dealer is very poor (the one with quality care in its name, how ironic). Please advise what Ford dealer has good or best service. Thanks!

    2) Turning radius, a little wider compared to the fortuner, pero acceptable din sa kin kasi yung Estrada nga namin, grabe, mas wide pa.
    5) The spare tire location, siempre, nasa likod, so ingats dapat kasi baka me maatrasan ka,

CRDi type pa sya, so good power at low RPMs.
    2) Sya rin ata pinakamaluwag sa loob compared to the Alterra at Fortuner.
    3) Easily removable pa yung 3rd row seat, so puede kargahan ng mga goods.
    4) At just 1.2M average price, sa tingin ko, best value for your money.
    5) Solve na solve ako sa manual, kasi A/T yung starex ko, at yung dating CRV ko, A/T rin. You get full control of the RPMs, power, torque, etc. Love ko rin pag kakaset up ng gear ratio nya, kasi, yung Pajero at Estrada namin, naka set up na very high torque at low acceleration sa 1st gear. Satisfied ako sa acceleration nito on the 1st gear.

NICE FEEDBACKS ON FORD EVEREST... NOW, I VERY POSITIVE TO BUT A NEW ONE... TNX A LOT

Just want to share my experience with my Everest.

I got my everest last 2004.

First day pa lang, napansin kong masyadong mausok at malamang bagsak sa smoke belching. Dealer claims that this is normal to some of their units that needs some adjustment. Fortunately, nabago naman.

After just 1 year and 2 months and with 8K odometer, I have to replaced the battery.

Before it reach it 2nd year and at less than 15K, I also need to replace the stopper and bushing. Dealer was charging me more than 5K for the replacement.

Last month, after 2 years and 9 months, my power windows on the driver's side was no longer working. So far, I have not sent it yet for repair.

With just more than 2 years of use and low mileage, this is the first time I have encountered all these defects.

sir to get the best mileage.. i try as much as possible to avoid traffic. the best record i got from san pablo to quezon city and back is about 15km/liter on a saturday morning 5-7 am.

furthermore nowadays na laging umuualan it pays to have a dependable sport utility vehicle!

sir sorry to hear sa problems ng eve mo kahit low mileage pa siya, pero tanong ko lang bakit it was not covered by Ford's 3-year warrantee.

my 2nd generation eve is due for the 20k km psm this month and pa-check ko rin sa casa some possible problems like what you encountered...

    ciao

All the defects that I encountered was the normal wear and tear according to them hence should only cover a one year warranty (for the battery) or less (for other parts).

I should have used my ride more often for a provicial sortie or even go off road. Maybe, it will be more easier for me to accept all the defects.

    sir Ditto,
i can relate to your problems.
    we have a 2004 4x4 ford everest.
namatayan yung kapatid ko ng battery wala pang 1 year of use. grabe!

    1. saan kayo nagpapalinis ng aircon? magkano? alam ko kasi babaklasin yung buong dashboard just to service the aircon. i want a "professional" to do it. hehehe

    2. i have a small problem with my clutch. minsan kahit anong ganda at dahan-dahan ng bitaw ko, super na-nginginig. has anyone experienced this? sabi ng isang shop baka daw kailangan i-reface yung clutch plate.

thanks in advance for your replies

Kung less than 1 year eh namatay na yung battery, dapat ni-replace yan for free because the battery has 1 year warranty. Galing Thailand yung battery pero ni-replace nila without questions. Mas magaling pa yata ang motolite

    re: aircon cleaning

no need to remove the whole dashboard... just open the glove compartment and pull it off, makikita mo na agad yung aircon components doon & very accessible na lahat

sa rear aircon, just remove the 3rd row seat, remove the plastic (with metal clips) & doon mo na makikita yun. take note dapat dahan-dahan lang mag-remove ng metal clips, kasi pag nasira yun, mahirap makahanap ng replacement!

    re: clutch

ilang years na sir yung everest nyo? nakapagpalit na ba kayo ng clutch or pressure plate? na-try nyo ba yung '4th gear rolling start' method para ma-test kung ok pa yung pressure plate?

    re: battery

since our rides are CBU (completely built-unit) from Thailand... it doesn't mean the battery is 'brand new' at the time you've taken the car outside the casa... yung akin july 2005 ko nakuha yung everest ko pero yung battery manufactured april 2005. This means almost 3 months na walang activity yung battery!

btw yung OE battery ko oks pa naman, yun lang nilipat ko na sa farm tractor namin at bumili na ako ng AC Delco for my everest (this was last June 2007).

At least, your battery got busted before the one year warranty. But for me, right just after the warranty period, no way for me to complain despite the low mileage (10K). Anyway, I'm not sure though if the low mileage or usage have some effect on the battery life.

bihira ko gawin 'to... pero simple lang... full stop in levelled ground, no obstacles in front ... engine running, shift to 4th gear then try to lift the clutch very slowly... add little gas para di mamatay engine...

pag heavy shaking ang nangyari, pressure plate is the problem. pag yung rpm goes up & no/very minimal acceleration, clutch slippage naman.

possibly ... dahil di nyo ginagamit masyado kaya nasira ang battery... suggestion ko at least start the engine & warm it up for about 10 minutes (or ikot-ikot lang sa loob ng village/baranggay) every 2 weeks para di masira ang battery, engine, brakes, bearings, etc...

    Thanks for the advise.

The low mileage doesn't mean that I didn't use the car daily. The car is used to bring my children daily to their school beside that all access road going to school are good. I even used my evehicle with extra care. But despite of this, all this hustles.

Medyo mahirap tanggapin dahil first time ito na nangyari sa akin. Hindi katulad ng Honda at Toyota. Malayo masyado sa quality ng Everest.
