We already agreed on 980k, initially he was selling it for 1.088M I haggled for 100k less, I'm not sure lets see if he will still give more discount.

@Gecko: Thanks, pinadala ko na ngayon, ngayon ang bayaran namin sa bank. balak ko padaanin muna sa Ford Greenhils for final inspection bago ako magbayad? what do you think? anong test ba ang dapat gawin to know exactly the condition of this everest inside out it looks new, pero syempre being a sigurista buyer I really want to know the technical aspect and condition of the SUV which I'm going to get.

newbie here. i am planning to buy everest 2009, crdi, 20,000kms odo; xlt; worth 750,000. it is posted in autohan, i need help sirs if this is a good buy. i can not believe it is 20k odo. accdg to the dealer, repossessed that is why it is low on mileage. any suggestion sirs?

Is this the Gen 3 2009 model already or the Gen 2 model? (There are some gen 2 models that were still being sold in 2009). Average driving per year is 12-15K klms, so if it was re-possessed and got stuck in the banks vault then it's possible but highly unlikely.
Unless you know the full history of the unit or the previous owner then I might gamble with my money, otherwise think twice. As they say "when in doubt, Don't" HTH.

@Daison: Lagi naman me discount na malaki binibigay ng casa for the Eve. Tyaga lang sa paghahanap...

Wow this is even a bargain, got mine 2011 XLT M/T with 15k mileage for 980k, was just delivered today. Yeah check on the history, I called the insurance for my Eve luckily no claims or whatsoever, now I'm free from worry that the Eve had an accident, what i'll do next is to check the casa for maintenance since the maintenance done on the Eve was during 5k mileage it hasn't visited the casa since.


The good thing also, which I'm banking on is the 2yrs warranty remaining on my Eve so if ever i'll have engine/transmission trouble I can still claim a a manufacturer warranty, though I hope I won't have any issue since it will be hassle bringing the Eve to casa and not have a service vehicle going to office.


Btw, another issue with repossessed if you're getting it from the bank's car depot, you can only start it but not test drive test it, and it's on "As Is Where Is Basis", I hope the previous owner did not do anything bad to the car before it was confiscated by the bank. I hear some nasty things that sometimes the owners put rubbing compound on the engine before the bank gets it.

Do you're home work research try to contact the previous owner if you can, check for casa records if available. check for insurance if the car has accident claims. That's the only guarantee we have when getting a used car from the person we don't know, though I know it's a lot of work, i tried it myself, searching for the name of the previous owner in the internet and Facebook, contacting the SA and Casa. I was just successful in contacting the insurance for claims luckily my Eve doesn't have any. That's good enough for me. The rest I will just hope that I wont have any issue for the coming years, that's the cost of almost 600k savings I got for buying a used car.
