    May Mustang GT din siya.

This is really nice, capable of minor offroading and bigger than the jimny pa.

There's an owner in Ford ph forums who's having a nightmare with his EcoSport since rain water is leaking inside.

    Ford Ecosport leaking issue.

WARNING -- This is going to be a very long post but this is going to be worth the read...

I was very happy when I got my Ecosport. With the pricepoint and very beautiful design, I thought it was a great purchase. Everything changed last month...

I got my ecosport in April from Ford Edsa Greenhills. Im very happy naman with the performance. Although the ride wasnt as smooth as I wanted it to be, the look and the fact that I feel safer because Im driving an "SUV" compensated it.

In this thread, im hearing a whole bunch of mechanical sound issues. My problem is different.

I discovered the issue the day when Bagyong Mario arrived . I live in Pasig and I know that flooding can occur anytime so I decided to take my car and go somewhere else. True enough, while I was driving along Libis, I received news that my area is already flooded. I decided to just check-in in a hotel to spend the day. While scouting for a hotel, I tried to grab something at the back of my seat when I noticed that the floor at the back of the passenger side is wet. When I lifted the plastic matting that I have, thats when I discovered the water that accumulated in that section.

Since sobrang lakas pa ng ulan non, sabi ko na lang, Ill just bring it tomorrow (Saturday) to Ford Greenhills. And I did. So I showed them the water build up at the back of the passenger seat. For some reason, sobrang lakas ng amoy kulob ng car ko and I noticed na nagmoist yung mga plastic mats ko. So I decided to check all sections only to find out na lahat ng sections--driver seat, passenger seat, back of driver's seat and back of passenger's seat--lahat may tubig and basa.

Not only that, nung tinignan ko yung likod, basa rin. To add to that, di lang sya basa kundi may amag na rin.

I inspected the other parts including the ceiling and Io and behold, may wet part nga sa ceiling.

Dun na ko nagsimulang magwala. How can a 5-month old car--thats very much well taken care of, was not flooded, thats not being used often--get flooded inside? I was so frustrated.

Ano yan? Nilubog ko na parang submarine? I also asked them to open the hood dahil alam kong dun pa lang, makikita na nila kung nabaha yon--the engine was clean.

They asked me to leave the car so that they can perform a leak test. I approved and left frustrated with the question--why would they issue a defective unit to a customer? Before leaving, I told them to remove everything including the ceiling para makita lahat ng leak.

They scheduled the leak test with the Ford Philippines engineering Tuesday the following week. They removed the seats and the carpet to identify the source of the leak. I called around Monday/Tuesday the following week (this was the 2nd week that they had my car) asking for the results of the test. The service advisor Rona told me that it the problem was with the weatherstrip sa door sa likod. And then she told me na gumamit daw sila ng pressure washer and pinatubigan yung labas. Again, I was fuming mad.

How can they tell me na walang leak sa kisame kung nung dinala ko yung unit sa kanila, hinawakan pa nya yung kisame and she confirmed na basa. I wanted to to talk to the Service Manager but Rona told me na nasa meeting daw. I decided to go there that moment and asked Rona to tell the manager that Im on my way and I wanted to talk to him.

Pagdating ko sa Ford Connecticut (Ford Greenhills is being renovated so all of their personnel were transferred to Connecticut), I told Rona na I wanted to see my car. She showed me my car and I got really depressed. Parang kinatay yung kotse ko. Nakakalat yung upuan, yung carpet nakakalat sa loob, loose yung portions ng ceiling--it was an utter mess. Pinatawag ko yung manager because I wanted him to explain the findings and their next steps. Dumating si Jay T., the service manager. Here's his explanation:

Yung weatherstrip daw, merong parang disconnect/gap dun sa may lower right side ng door opening. Dun daw pumasok yung water. Unfortunately, since bago ang ecosport sa Pinas, they need to get it from Thailand pa which will take weeks.

I wasnt satisfied with his answer. His answer still doesnt explain how the ceiling got wet. Sabi ko ayoko ng mga sagot na "posible" and "mukhang"--I wanted a concrete answer to my question.

I was feeling frustrated and hopeless na so I just asked them to give me a COMPLETE report for the incident and since I needed the car on Saturday that weekend, we all agreed that they will give back my car on Friday night. And since the replacement carpet is not yet available, they will just do an interior cleaning of the unit to dry the moisture and clean up the mold build up at the back of the car. They committed to release the car on Friday already clean.

I went back on Friday around 5 pm to get my car. Before driving out from Ford Connecticut, I decided to do a check of the unit. First thing that I checked was the "amag" at the back of the car. When I lifted the removable mat of my car, I saw the same white amag that I saw when I brought the car to them. At that point I became furious again so I talked to Jay again. Sabi nya nilinis na daw pero when I showed him the back of the car, he immediately called his people to clean it and apply anti-bacterial. Akala ko ba ayos na?

I asked for a report. When I read the report, kulang-kulang so I asked them to revise. While they were revising the report, I checked the other components of the car. I noticed na nakaangat yung right side ng roof rack. I called Rona again and showed her. Sabi nya papaayos daw nya. So again, kinalikot nila ulit yung kotse. So tinawag ko si Rona and thats when she told me na nasira daw yung attachment so magrerequest na lang daw sila ng replacement from the warehouse.

So pumunta ko don para ayusin nila yung leak. Nung binalik nila yung kotse ko, di pa rin ayos yung leak at may bonus pa, nasira pa nila pati yung roof rack. At that point, Im sure you guys can imagine kung gano na ko kagalit non. Hinanap ko ulit yung manager na si Jay to make sure that his aware. Guess what, umuwi na. Talk about good customer service. When I got the revised report, di pa rin kumpleto. Rona attempted to revise it again pero talaga yatang di marunong gumawa ng report yung tao. I specified sa report na di ako nagaagree sa sinabi nila na wala ng leak sa kisame and I wanted to have it checked again. I got the report and went home.

The following day (Saturday), I was scheduled to pick up someone from the airport. Around lunch time, while I was preparing to go out, biglang umulan ng malakas. I was very happy kasi dito makikita kung tama yung sinabi nila na walang leak sa kisame. Worried kasi im confident na meron talagang leak and I was very sure na meron akong makikitang basa sa kisame ulit. And take note, wala pang 10 minutes umuulan non.

They asked me to leave the car again so that they can do another check to identify kung san nanggagaling yung leak. Di ako pumayag na iwan dahil kailangan ko yung car during that time. I just asked them to revise the report and make sure na yung leak na nakita sa kisame is reported.

Ford Ph sold almost 4000 units of Ecosport. Some complaints here and there. Some are somewhat happy. Would I buy it? NOPE lol
