Nice suv that worth waiting for.

Interesting to see if Ford Phils will bring this new Escape with diesel power plant to compete with Hyundai / KIA offering.
Also interesting is how will the 1.6L eco-boost petrol engine perform in manila traffic driving.

Parang combi ng sportage at tucson yung design principle.

RWD kaya yan or FWD in 4x2 trim?

Styling of the 2013 Escape (2nd gen Kuga in Europe) is an evolution of the 2008 1st gen Kuga, which came out before the current Tucson.

The 4x2 version is FWD just like the outgoing Escape and majority of the other compact SUVs/CUVs.

nice and modern looking. mas nilapit itsura sa focus and makes its car-roots more obvious.

i'll miss the squarish, macho stance of past escapes na patterned sa truck/suv siblings niya.

talagang nagiging generic looking na ang mga CUV hehe

I like the design. This is surely a thousand steps forward compared to the current design.

kuga, what a name. the suv Is their choice vehicle.

i recall the preview for the then upcoming focus mk3 as a vertically compacted Kuga.

from the Kuga design, to focus mk3 hatch, to this. the look alikes have grasshopper-like fascias so there won't be much confusion, and they will have some more time before rolling with this.

The new Escape is a global model, it's part of the "One Ford" strategy.
In some markets it will be called Kuga (Mk2).

The first Escapes sold here were close to the US version.

    - motioncars

It was the newer facelifted versions that were unique to the Asia-Pacific market.

With One Ford, the new and upcoming Ford models will be global.

This would be an instant hit with the TDCI engine from the focus! :D

even better with 2.5L TDCi from the Ranger. The Focus diesel has more value because its TDCi is paired with cutting edge 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. The Escape is likely to have the same If they're making a diesel variant.

The 2.5 liter TDCi from the Ranger is a truck engine, it will be replaced by a 150
PS 2.2 TDCi engine in the 2012 Ranger.

Outside North America the 2013 Escape (Kuga Mk2) will most likely be offered with the optional 163PS 2.0 TDCi (available with Powershift) found in the 2012 Focus and outgoing Kuga Mk1.

This is the suv that ive been waiting for.. When kaya ang release dito sa pinas? Ok lng kung 1.6l ecobosst and 2.5l tdci diesel engine. Patok sa market to for sure!

Maybe the 200hp 2.2L TDCi currently used in the Mondeo would be an option to consider. I believe nobody would miss a gasoline-powered V6 with a 2.2L diesel...
