Its bigger, but not that much heavier compared to the old 4x2 model sold here, it also uses a more powerful modern engine with twin variable cam timing. The new Explorer is also more aerodynamic than the previous model.

If he gets 4.5km/L with the lighter 3.5 V6 Accord, then 4km/L with the Explorer is acceptable for its size, assuming both vehicles are driven the same way and pass through the same traffic.

Heavy-foot driving tells you nothing. I can get down to 7 km/l with a heavy foot with the Focus Diesel and we've gotten under 5 km/l with the Montero Sport and Fortuner in traffic with a "heavy foot".

Moderate driving will tell you more about what a car can do.

Sabagay. I average 3.7km/L sa traffic + heavy foot.

Naku yari, mukhang wala din kaming makukuhang additional cash disc

Anyway I was wondering, do you think we can change the rims to 19" to make FC more efficient? May effect kaya ang one inch differential?

Just one inch won't do anything on a vehicle this heavy and with an engine this powerful.

4km/lt parang malakas yata. My 2003 F150 worst FC is 4km/lt this on heavy foot and traffic. Considering that i'm on 18" SVT wheels. I had better mileage on my OEM wheels. Doing 4.6km/lt on My 2000 Explorer sport trac. Sa bagay it's a truck. Pwede ba natin compare FC consumption ng Wagon and Truck? I had a Gen1 expedition XLT triton V8 almost the same lang. Better to have a V8 engine pala same consumption pero panalo ka HP. IMHO

He gets 4.5km/l on a 3.5 V6 Accord, so that means he'd probably be getting less than 4km/L if he drove your F-150 the same way and through the same traffic.

Can't really compare your driving to mine and my route to yours. I can get as low as 2.5-3km/L on an expedition and 5km/L on the X-trail, and 4 km/l with the Accord. I just gave the figures above as rough estimates. Sorry for the confusion

    If I drove your F150, i wouldn't get 4km/l

No need to apologize, Wala naman na confuse nagulat lang ako. The new explorer has 3.5 engine displacement diba? Expecting it to have at least 5km/lt. Buti nga nag share ka ng FC mo. I will not conclude naman with your testimony alone. Syempre I need to hear from other owners also. Don't mind those sarcastic post. If i sounded sarcastic also I'm sorry narin. I'm posting here to gain friends not enemy. Thanks for sharing.

4 km/l from a 3.5 liter attached to a 2.2 ton truck with hard driving is okay.

On the Mazda CX9, which is 200 kilograms lighter and has the 3.8 liter version, it's impossible to get better than 4.5 km/l even with a light foot in city driving.

The Mazda CX-9 has a 3.7 liter V6 and is only 84kg lighter than the Ford Explorer Limited 4WD.

    For those curious...
Mazda CX-9 curb weight: 2062 kg
Ford Explorer Limited 4WD curb weight: 2146 kg

I guess if Ford Philippines would also sell the Explorer XLT or base model, it could be as low as 2M?

2012 Explorer is lighter than 2001 pala. I'm guessing that's about it regarding with it's FC.

AG4, you have a source for the curb weight? I have one at 2,200+, but looking at yours, might be that mine is European style curb weight, which includes the driver.
