changed the mags to conceptone peak 17x8.5 and tires 285/70/r17. nakapila ako sa ranger peor ng malaman to na next year pa 3.2 4x4 xlt at wildtrck. at mauna na ang bt 50. ito na kinuha ko. ginagamit ko sa job site. no regrets ang habol ko kasi ang high end na.

doublej, actually, compared sa ranger, obvious difference are just the front grill, headlights and stepboard. saka mas mataas siguro konti ground clearance ng ranger. BT-50 looks ok. in fact, probably better pa nga interior. congrats sa new ride mo..

Saw a BT50 yesterday from Jupiter Street turning to Makati Avenue.
ang weird ng tail light at head light ... Pero other than that, ang angas ng tindig nya, at mukhang may built-in pang backing sensor

Nangliit ang dating Navara ni Misis

Thnks.

Can anyone post a picture of the ford ranger XL 4X4. ford has sent emails on specification but still no picture. planning to buy but don't know what it looks like yet! been waiting since release to see pictures of the 4x4 XL. local dealer says they'll call when there's already a display but don't no when.

I agree with sir kaefer, sabi ng ford commonwealth matagal pa daw nila ilabas 4x4... pinagpipilian ko between strada and ford. hope you guys can help me decide.
Ask ko na din po yun sa mga nakakuha na ng ranger unit... d po ba under power ang ranger since 2.2 displacement nito while strada has 2.5? how was the ride and acceleration?

strada is obviously more powerful and will accelerate well than ranger 2.2

4x2 Comparo As per Spec Sheet:
    Horsepower (ps/rpm)
    New Ranger: 150 / 3700
    Strada VGT: 178 / 4000
    Navara: 144 / 4000
    New HiLux VNT: 160 / 3400

    Torque (Nm / RPM Range)
    New Ranger: 375 / 1500-2500
    Strada VGT: 350 / 1800-3500
    Navara: 356 / 2000?
    New Hilux VNT: 343 / 1400-3200

The 2.2L ranger engine does not stand out but is no slouch either.
It does deliver power at an early stage, but I'm concerned about the narrow power band.

However, it beats Wifey's previous daily driver, 4x2 Navara LE, as per specsheet.
And seeing how she used to cruise at 160KM/H easy with her Nav, I'm inclined to assume that the Ranger can do even better.

Too bad we can't exploit the full potential via simple test drive at the dealer

Ayus talaga yung VGT sa strada at montero. Sir sa Hilux 3.0 yata yun nilagay mo? How about sa 2.5 na lalagyan ng VNT and sa 3.2 Ranger? Thanks!

Thats exactly why Im having a second thought on the new ranger, coz of its 2.2 engine. baka gumapang ito pag akyatan na. considering its big and bulky body. yun kc mga videos sa youtubes are 3.2 engines. lets wait for the reply/post of the lucky and mga nauna ng ranger owners :-)

Thanks sir macstar for the specs... but its really different in actual thing. Thats the downside of buying new cars with new specs, but the prestige of owning them first... :-)

Yup, wala kasing naka specify na VNT for 2.5 (2kd-ftv) nila e
Yung lumang engine spec pa rin yata sa 2.5

Anyway, test drive pa rin ang mas importante ...

Totally agree, although skeptical ako sa mga first release, baka marami pang "bugs"
At least, 2 to 3 years down the road, may mga issues man, chances are, alam na ang solution

I doubt the Ranger 2.2 would have a problem going uphill or in full load. The thing with diesel engines is that they've got so much torque at the low-end that a hefty curb weight doesn't slow it down much, unlike with a gasoline engine.

The Ranger 2.2 makes 78 HP/Ton, and that's identical to the Starex (more power, but 100 kg heavier). In my experience with the latter, it had no problem keeping up with a BMW 528i on our way to Calatagan via Tagaytay, and that was with 11 people on board.
