April 28th, 2012 11:27 PM #311Still no Ford Ranger? Ford Cagayan de Oro Said! there are no other NEW units that have arrived in the Philippines. So basically what they'll do is just Move the Ranger's on display in Luzon around the country. They're saying there are no other units except those on display. Ford is really just taking their time! not even updating their website or giving out spec's sheets to their dealers! atleast they should POST the ACTUAL pictures of the rangers their gonna sell! they just keep posting pictures of the ranger from like australia and thailand but really no pictures of the ranger their gonna sell like. Just really want to see a picture of the ford ranger XL here in the philippines! and not the australian or thailand version. Is the philippines pick-up market that weak that its just being ignored by the companies like Ford, Isuzu, Chevrolet and even Toyota.

April 30th, 2012 02:36 AM #313*kaefer_zwei, this july daw darating ang ford ranger. Sa pagkakaalam ko tig 10 units lang muna ang ilalabas nila sa 3 models na minamarket nila ngayon. XL 4x2 and 4x4 m/t and XLT na a/t 4x2.

Its more like in general, the Philippine market is very small, that's also one of the reasons we get new models at a later date, larger major markets usually come first, obviously Thailand (the source for most regional models) and Australia (a much larger market) comes ahead of us.
Another reason for the delay, the Thai flood from late last year damaged the facilities of their parts suppliers and in the case of Honda, the assembly plant itself got flooded.
PS: Ford and Mazda have invested $27M to upgrade their AutoAlliance Thailand facility so they can keep up with the demand by increasing production capacity.Last edited by AG4; May 9th, 2012 at 06:07 AM.

May 13th, 2012 06:06 PM #319Ford Ranger is Amazing! but I also found something not good, well its about a few fine details. Minor problems with build quality.
First: the welds. Dad said some welds were shoddy and poorly done because of visible spotting! And yeah I Saw the ranger construction Videos its welded by "[ROBOTS!]". so how the hell did this happen.

Second: Some of the Pics from above show Rust. Its brand new? how come there's rust? what no rust proofing?
Third:The Window Visor - looks like its glued/taped on with the excess glue/tape STICKING OUT?

Fourth: the Bed Liner, Yes the problem is that it does not cover the TOPS of the BED WALL. people and cargo tend scratch that area most.

Fifth: The steering wheel. For such a BIG car it has such a TINY steering wheel like the size of Honda City. But I can Live with that.
BUT MY MAIN CONCERN is the WELDS and the RUST

Like any modern pickup, this has power steering and has less turns lock to lock, no need for the extra leverage of a large diameter steering wheel.
PS: This is not the first time i've seen surface rust on chassis welds or bolts and exhaust pipes etc on a new vehicle.
The rain deflector/ visor is a dealer installed accessory, never been fan of these.
