March 15th, 2013 05:25 AM #2581Some people install a turbo timer to keep the engine idling so they can walk away from their car during a cool down period. I do not recommend these products for a number of reasons. First, if you have a manual transmission, you should always put it in first or reverse gear when parking in addition to applying the parking brake, so the convenience of walking away with the car idling is not possible. Also, a turbo timer requires spending money on the timer, cutting wires and introducing an unnecessary failure point. Lastly, for diesel applications, coking is not as common of a problem due to the lower rpm and cooler exhaust gas temperatures, and you should be using synthetic oil anyways which is more resistant to coking. If you are truly concerned about turbo care, just make sure that you drive at medium rpms and load when the engine is still warming up and just drive sensibly a few minutes before shutting the engine down.

March 15th, 2013 11:21 AM #2582Yun naririnig kong sound pag nirelease ko yun accelerator, rpm 1500+ tapos higher gear mas maingay. Hindi kaya yung turbo yun? Naririnig ko siya sa right side ng hood. Iba kasi yung sound niya compared sa montero vgt namin. Pag binitawan yun gas, parang tiwww tiww tiw. 3x lagi.

March 15th, 2013 08:40 PM #2585Guys, eto mga napansin ko sa ranger mt namin.. 1st time namin magka manual na bago kaya yung ibang sasabihin ko baka normal lang or maling timpla..
1. pag tinapakan yung clutch pedal, nagbabago yung sound nung engine, dogdogdogdogdogdogdog mabilis..
2.1st gear ang pangit.. nagjejerk yung sasakyan kapag bitaw apak ng gas. kelangan ba hindi irerelease ng todo yung clutch pag 1st gear? ganito din sa 2nd gear pag mabagal..
3. May sound na maririnig kapag binibitawan yung gas, parang sumisingaw na sound like a cd payer. yung montero vgt namin kasi sipol sipol ayos lang. eto iba ang pangit pakinggan.
4. Maingay na yung makina di katulad nung bagong labas. 437km pa lang natatakbo nito.. parang truck na.. di ako lumalagpas ng 2k rpm..
Hindi naman ako namamatayan pero para sakin mas madali pang idrive yung mga truck and jeep namin. practice pa..
Please tell me anong dapat gawin, di pa kasi ako marunong magmanual. thanks..

Sir may i ask kung cold condition ba nangyayari to? Mine is A/T naririnig ko din yan sir pag winawarmup ko palang engine up to around 3kmts, cguro yung injector naririnig nyo normal lang yan pero try nyo hagutin konti mwawala din yan pag mainit na makina and mas maingay sya sa low rpm un lang napansin ko po

2. Subukan mo muna i release dahan dahan ang clutch ng todo bago ka mag gas.Sa ranger, experience ko, hindi dapat salubungin ang clutch at gas tulad ng ginagawa mo sa iba mong sasakyan. Release it first fully before depressing the accelerator otherwise it will surely jerk.
3. Wala ako narinig sa Ranger ko sir na ganyan, tulad ng sinabi nyo. Maririnig ko lang yun if after ko patayin ang makina. Pa check nyo yan sir.
4. Pakiramdam nyo lang siguro yung maingay sir, LOL. Otherwise, its worth checking kung totoo talaga. Hataw nyo kaya sir muna. Para sa akin, maganda ang hard break in. Mine is almost 4k kms na, so far so good.
