November 20th, 2014 01:15 PM #1On a Diesel Innova Model 2006, naka ilang beses na na recommend ng casa (casa maintained to.. but I take it to casa to let them identify mga issues.. but some issues pinapagawa ko sa casa.. the others sa labas ko pinapagawa)... na valve cover gasket ay palitin na... there is some traces na may oil nga na tumatapon.. and it seems logical na valve cover gasket nga...
a friend deals / imports Toyota parts so napag tanungan ko din sya... may stock naman sya ng VAlve cover gasket... but he mentioned din na meron ding ibang mga O-Rings , gaskets and small parts na minsan ay palitin na rin... so he suggested na since bubuksan na rin naman yung makina (or ibaba ng makina).. why not isang bukasan na lang at palitan na...
tama ba yung logic na to? if ever ano ano yung malamang na magiging palitin na rin?
I'm looking for a shop where I can take the unit to have the valve cover gasket replaced din...
nabanggit din sa casa na EGR needs replacing... I read in some thread somewhere here na nililinis lang yun... I do get CEL na din kapag matagal na naka idle yung makina...
your advise will be a lot of help.. thanks.

ano ang cause ng CEL? hindi naman kailangan ibaba engine kung leak lang sa valve cover gasket unless ang cause ng leak ay excessive blowby gases. change or clean pcv (if equipped), yung egr linis lang kung ok naman solenoid.

November 24th, 2014 11:03 AM #3Easy procedure lang yang valve cover gasket replacement.
Although ok naman yung logic na palitan na yung pdeng palitang pag binuksan ang makina, palagay ko minimal lang ang makikitang seals at o-ring pag inalis ang valve cover. Baka nga wala ka pa makita unless sasadyain mong alisin or tingnan ang oil seals or oil-rings.
Suggestion ko, change valve cover gasket, PCV valve, at clean the EGR. Then observe kung may oil leaks pa din. Pag meron pa din then you go from there sa pag identify kung saan leaks.

December 17th, 2014 06:49 AM #5valve cover gasket, sa ibaba lang yan. Unless magpapalit ka na ng timing belt, dyan mo na isabay mga oil seals.
Yung sa EGR, cleaning lang yan, yung iba nga binablanko yan. YUng SCV ang pinapalitan sa pagkakaalam ko. Pero kung wala ka naman nararamdaman na stalling, why fix it?

December 20th, 2014 01:52 PM #6Mga pre, quick question, medyo off topic. Kapag ba ganyan na kailangan ibaba or buksan yung makina, ano ang reasonable cost let's say for labor? Namention kasi ng pinag pagawaan ko before na baka kailangan na rin palitan yung valve seat gasket nung Vitara ko. Thanks.

^umuusok ba vitara mo? Top overhaul yan if you need to replace the valve seals.

^5kish above labor. White smoke means may pumapasok na coolant sa combustion chamber mo, indicating a worn/blown head gasket. Pag pinabunot mo head, palitan mo na rin lahat ng seals/gaskets e.g. sparkplug seals etc. G16B engine mo?
