depends on your budget sir. if you are willing to go with FS oil then go ahead change oil yearly or every six(6) months using mineral oil since you have a low mileage.

Sorry for the noob question. For mineral oil ba, is it a "must" to change oil every 6months even if less than 5k km?

You can extend naman beyond 6 months. Pero try to monitor parin yung mileage, oil level, and fuel efficiency. AND kung sa 5k na tinakbo e most of the time ba nasa traffic. I doesn't show up kasi sa odometer.

Need suggestion po:

Im for due oil change *45k pms.

Would be doing it outside the casa na lang, most probably to my suking gas station.

Nag backread na ko for mineral oil vs fully synthetic.. Mejo torn pa din in between kase sabi nyo dito for mineral oil every 5k km ang change oil + filter.. Pag fully synthetic, every 10k km or per year..

Sa situation ko po, im just averaging 5-7k km per year... Should i go mineral or fully synthetic?

Leaning towards caltex oils kase baka dun na din kase pachange oil..

Can't go wrong naman with either, as long as you follow the recommended oil change intervals. If you feel that what you've used for the first 45k is fine, stick with it. Kung namamahalan ka, try using mineral pero with a quality filter parin to keep the oil clean.

Think of conventional and synthetics as a hammer and a rock, both can drive a nail down a piece of wood.

Advisable sir lalo na diesel ang engine. Kahit nga ung FS oil, ung iba hangan 7k oil change na.

Mas maganda ba sundin yung 5,000km rule? Kesa i-based sa months 3,6 or 12mos? Kase weekend ko lang nagagamit, then bahay-church-mall lang mga 5-7kms lang yun i think..

So baka nga yung 6 months ko less than 5,000km, eh what if mineral oil lang pinalagay ko? Lets say 3,000 pa lang in 6months? Change oil na din?

Pero last na napalagay early this year eh mineral oil lang.. Medyo naghihigpit ng sinturon ngayon kaya sa labas ako ngayon magpapachange-oil.. Kaya ang dilemma ko eh if magmineral muna ulit, sabi sa pms manual naman eh light checkup lang sa casa and change oil lang gagawin.. Then come 50k, should i go back to casa and balik fully synthetic, Para di rin malito sa bilang.. Parang every 10,000 ako nun change oil, then every 5,000 palit filter at top up lang.. Tama nga ba?

If your oil will last 10k, you still need to check other things at 5k. If you can DIY that, then mas makaka tipid ka.

Visually inspecting the color of the oil is not a good basis(of oil life left). If your oil has low detergents, it may look clearer than an oil with higher detergent levels. That means the oil that is "blacker" actually dissolved more deposits in the engine, making the inside of the engine cleaner.

I have a friend who is a mineral oil user since day 1. I convinced him to switch to synthetic, after 1 year, he changed his oil and saw that the oil is black and there are some gelatin like oil coming out. He thought panget ang synthetic oil. He switched back to mineral, not knowing that the synthetic oil actually dissolved oil sludge from his engine.

Went to ace hardware and saw one. Pero magakasing price lang sila ng multigrade. Kala ko mas mura sya ng di hamak. Gagamitin ko lang sanang pang flush ng engine.

5k ang conventional na basehan, plus or minus pa rin yan kumporme sa sitwasyon. Laging traffic, dusty yung area, rugged road... (yan ang mga nakakapagpababa ng km para mag change oil ng 5K-PMS (mineral oil), to determine dapat matutunan mong mag base sa kulay at hipo ng langis sa dipstick.

Usually pag maitim hanggang sa maitim na maitim ay dapat ng paliitan yung langis. Sa hipo, labnaw at lapot lang ang basehan.

Im on my 20k pms and planning to change brand of gas engine oil. Do I need to purchase engine flush if I change oil brand or if i change from synthetic to mineral or just simply everytime you change oil kahit same brand?

You don't need it unless your engine is dirty or have oil sludge. Though I see Mitsubishi recommending it all the time. I personally don't use it.

Find an oil that works for you and stick with it. I don't see a reason why to change oil brands all the time, unless the reason is about budget.
