Went to my favorite motor shop to have my oil change, sabi ko bakit hindi Mobil Delvac gamitin niyo instead of Castrol? kasi daw naka tie-up na sila sa Castrol and mahal daw ung price ng Mobil Delvac, 50 petot daw ang difference. And libre ung mga car alignment nila from Castrol. Sabi ko naman na mas okay naman ung Mobil Delvac. Well, hopefully konting convincing power pa kailangan para dun na rin ako bumili ng mobil delvac sa kanila.

Currently on my 3K kms of FS oil, just noticed that my FC has improved by approx 1-2kms/L as compared when I was on mineral oil. Same route and driving habits. If I can go 10K kms on my oil with same FC I'll be saving approx 4-5K pesos on fuel purchases alone, I think that will more than offset the higher price of an FS oil against the dyno ;)

Last time I bought, 270 per quart. That was December of last year.

Just a query on OIC. Why is it that manufacturer recommends more often OIC when using your vehicle on short interval trips. What is the logic and explanation behind this? mas mabilis ba mag accumulate ang sludge? Your inputs is very much appreciated. TIA.

I would recommend 10W-40 or 15W-40. 50 is too thick na imo.

and try to avoid the "Castrol" brand bec. of its supposed (whether true or not) reputation of causing sludge (latak) inside the engine.

The Castrol 20W-50, maybe it is the old one? The once I saw Castrol CRB it is 20W-40. Wala na akong nakikitang 20W-50 ngayon.

parang too heavy to bro. macocompromise fuel efficiency mo dyan. try 10w40 or 15w40. there are multitude of good and very affordable oils out there.

Just my observation on motor oils. Why is it that mineral oil viscosity grade is almost always 15W-40 whereas Synthetic oils are 5W-30, 10W-30 or even 0W-40. The winter grade is generally low for Synthetic oils compared to conventional Mineral oi.
