I bought a Baldwin Oil Filter for my fortuner and would want Toyota casa install that Baldwin oil filter, instead of their OEM oil filter. My scheduled PMS is actually just a top-up of 1 liter fully synthetic oil (5w30) and change of oil filter. So my question is would Toyota casa allow me if I ask them to install the Baldwin Oil Filter? Would they refuse and worse consider voiding my warranty?
they will make you sign a waiver na warranty will be voided

i argued with them na already

Don't bet on it. I requested for something similar about bringing my own oil. They said no. So I do my oil change elsewhere and they in turn, lost a service revenue (however minimal).

Anyway, you can still have the usual PMS done at the casa except for the oil filter change and the oil top-up. The latter two things you can do yourself in under 10 minutes.

Delo 400 mgx is a mineral oil but it has been tested for 80k kms.

Just a question, fully synthetic oil for diesel engines (diesel accent, sorento) safe to use up to 10k kms before oil change on stock oil filters?

Really want to stretch the OCI to 10k kms or yearly.

yes, you can but it is recommended to change your oil filter at 5k and just top it up with same engine oil. me, however, stick with 5k OCI with oem filter.

Ok lang yan. But if you’re going to replaced every 5k then just stick to the regular oil.

Volkswagen follows a 15k KM or 12-month cycle for their cars, even the diesel models. Yun sinusunod namin for our 2016 Jetta 1.6L TDI.

VW casa uses Castrol 5w30 oil.

They may be better oil filter than what the casa has but that doesnt mean their filter isnt enough to do the job.

Even if you use a casa oil filter, your engine will be okay for the next 15 years or so as long as you change oil and filter regularly.

You might be able to get away with a longer OCI if you have a large sump, minimal traffic/idling but it's a lot easier to stick to manufacturer recommended intervals.

Doing it earlier might be better if you're in traffic most of the time. I don't believe the hyper extended OCI's being marketed by lube companies.

I wonder why cruising at 2000rpm is less stressful to the car engine than idling at 800rpm..i simply check the color of the oil against the light

Before i reach 5000km i check the oil dip stick..if its pitch black then i replace the oil without waiting to reach 5000km

If its not pitch black when i reach 5000km then i extend it further

I agree, you're correct that 800rpm is less stressful than 2000rpm.
But I think that 2 cars, both with 5000kms on it, one is highway-driven and the other is city-driven,
it is easier to assume that the highway-driven car is subjected to less stress.
IMO, engine operating time is still the best indicator for OCIs.

I checked baldwin site. Seems like only gas engines are selectable for Sorento (2.4L & 3.3L) and Accent (1.6L gas)

try emailing them then bro. i bet they'd answer your query.

it's not really related to the topic at hand but i did that once w/ k&n air filters when i was looking for a k&n cabin filter for my truck and they replied in a jiffy.

Agree. A city-only driven car will have run a lot longer in terms of running time vs one that spends most of its time on the expressways with the same km interval.

For frequent short trips fuel dilution from all those cold starts will be a concern as well. Specially with an older engine.

For gasoline engines, fuel consumed might also be used to establish OCI's since they run at the same air fuel ratio all the time.

Harder to do that with diesels since they run pretty lean at cruising speed.
