Drove the car today and hindi naman ako tumirik. I'm expecting tirik sana araw ngayon unfortunately hindi nagpakita ang araw.
Route Alabang - skyway - bagtikan - edsa - pasay taft - cavitex - imus - alabang
Bumper to bumper ang traffic mula edsa onwards.. ignition coil is hot still...
..
======================================
About the condenser, I'm still learning electronics so I don't know if it's called capacitor.
I can remove this na lang ba or retain para sa radio/stereo?
I will post another thread about the tuning issues at the thread is about "very hot tension wire", and still it is. Even the coil.. yung firewall mainit din.. I don't know if this is normal though I still have lots to restore to the car like cooling system issues na post ko sa "yet another radiator cap pressure" question.

September 18th, 2014 10:03 PM #42Guys, so far hindi pa ako tumirik sa current setup ko na:
a.) 12v wire from ON/RUN key position plus "B" wire from ignition control module/igniter -> Point A Ballast Resistor
b.) Point B Ballast Resistor -> "+"/terminal 15 ignition coil
c.) "C" wire from ignition control module/igniter -> "-"/terminal 1 of ignition coil
But the ignition coil is still running hot that I can only touch it by 5 seconds if I ran 40 km.
Nagtry ako ng dalawang ballast resistor and ran 20km, so far hindi sya mainit ngayon at nahahawakan ko ng matagal.
The drawback is that it seems na out-of-tune ang kotse and it's running rich kasi maamoy ang tambutso.
Below is the volt reading I've done w/ 3 setups (no resistor, 1 resistor, and 2 resistor)
====================
No Ballast Resistor
+ to - coil reads = 4.5 erratic
+ to ground engine/chasis = 14.3 / 13.8 erratic
==================
1 Ballast Resistor(1.6 ohms)
Point A to Ground reads 13.8V
Point A to "-" coil reads 5.8 - 5.9 to 2.9 erratic
+ to - coil reads 2.7 volts
+ to ground engine/chasis 10.xx
==================
2 Ballast Resistor (1.6 ohms each)
Point A to Ground reads 14.6V / 13.5v
Point A to "-" coil reads 6.9 erratic
+ to - coil reads 1.9 volts erratic
+ to ground engine/chasis 9.7v to 10.xx volts

Causing weaker secondary High voltage for spark plug.

September 21st, 2014 12:19 AM #46Okay, as of now naka tune up siya sa 1 ballast resistor dahil pag naka 2 ballast resistor ako or no resistor iba ang sunog at amoy sa tambutso.
Pero pa clarify naman sir chinoi according kasi dito Compatible Ignition Coils, Ballast Resistors, Hot-Spark Electronic Ignition na dapat pag 4 cylinder engine dapat 3 ohms ignition coil gagagamitin kung direct connection.
6-8 cylinder pag 1.5 ohms coil.
Using a coil with too little primary resistance can cause the ignition module to overheat and misfire until it cools down again or fails, voiding the warranty.

Last edited by Chinoi; September 21st, 2014 at 01:41 AM.

September 21st, 2014 02:07 AM #48And can you comment dun sa nakasulat sa link?
I will test as per your suggestion na wag na gumamit ng resistor.
Note that I get 12-14v upon rev pag direkta sa "+" ng coil.
Please help me clarify
I will post picture to my 1 ballast resistor soon.
a.) Blitz Vacuum Gauge # 21 - 2ndhand For Sale Philippines - 53541405
Nagiipon pa kasi ako makabili nito
b.) Snap On Vacuum Pump Gauge - Made In Usa - 2ndhand For Sale Philippines - 53513309
Or similar na vacuum gauge na mura at okay.
Thanks for the advices.
I'm planning to rebuild my engine in the future.

September 24th, 2014 05:26 PM #49And can you comment dun sa nakasulat sa link?

Or bilhin mo na lang yun 3 in 1 nila. Around 2,500.
NOTE: Yun SP or Spark Plug hole Adaptor ay gawagawa ko lang using sirang spark plug.

I did get what's inside the car when I bought it.
Can you comment on this?
I see, sakto baka mas makamura kasi dati akong nagwork sa LY autosupply hehe (shhh)
;)
UPDATE:
So overall resistance ko is 3.2 ohms
2 ohms = ballast resistor
1.2 ohms = primary ng ignition coil
I'll wait kung titirik pa.
Here's the data gathered sa following:
1.) No resistor = tirik
2.) 1 ballast resistor (1.6 ohms) + 1.2 ohms primary winding overall is 2.8 ohms = tirik
sinabi moh! i hardly see my children now. when they were young, schedules were more predictable.
Traffic!
