It just sometimes stalls suddenly. It may start after few cranks, also noticed car usually restart within 5- 10 mins tops, i already changed the fuel filter, had the gas tank drained and cleaned, sprayed the carburator with carb cleaner, changed distributor cap ( had a crack in it). The cars idling also seems erratic a times, Car runs fine, does not loose power or jerk but then it just stalls after several minutes, I wonder if my ignition coil is going bad (4 years old ata) or are there any other parts? Plan ko po:help next is to change the spark plugs and HT wires (4 years old din)

My guess would be a failing ignition coil. When you replaced the distributor cap, did you see any oil or dirt inside? If it is dirty or if there is oil, the o-ring should be replaced.

erratic idling - fouled spark plugs or incorrect air-fuel mixture.

I'm sorry to hear that the problem still persists. I suggest taking the car to a reputable shop and have it diagnosed properly. The problem may be minimal (air-fuel mixture adjustment, spark plug/high tension wire replacement) as ben_david19 earlier suggested but it may be better to have the car thoroughly checked first. If you are in Manila, you may visit Speedyfix. Migs, the owner, is well known here in tsikot.com. Here is their website for more info: http://www.speedyfixph.com/

You basically have the same carb with my Mazda 323 Astina, only that my jets and barrels are bigger in diameter. Below are my two-cents worth as per experience on the carb.

Anyway, how erratic is erratic? Going up and down? Frequently? With aircon on and off?

AFAIK, carbs lose tune overtime especially pag may singaw na (needs repair kit) or depende sa atmospheric pressure (cold/hot? - yes, hindi lang EFI ang affected nito) at ambient temperature (hot sunny day/cold rainy nights).

Ilang RPM menor mo pag may aircon at wala?

May backfire ba (parang sinisinok or inuubo yung kotse)? If it backfires even on idle, have your air/fuel ratio fixed asap. It could cause overheat (mixed too lean).

Na-try mo na ba i-remix yung air/fuel ratio?

Don't do this too often, especially spraying directly to the barrells without throttling higher revs. Your carb is downdraft. Now imagine where all that dirty slime go.

Four-year old spark plugs and wires?

I'm beginning to think this could be the culprit.

How fine is fine?

If it really doesn't "lose power" or "jerk", then rule out the backfiring issue.

Does it eventually start after stalling? O hard starting na?

How did you check if there was spark?

1 I rarely use it, ngayon ko lang uli lang po ginamit yung carb cleaner
2 Engine does not overheat naman and no backfires
3 Inalis ko yung isang high tension wire with spark plug at nung turn on namin engine, walang spark nong ground ko sparkplug sa body at engine ng oto, nahawakan ko pa nga wire and di ako nakuryente..hehe
I'll try changing the plugs and wires later, pero hindi ba rare na magsabay pumalpak either ang 4 na plugs or wires at walang spark from plugs 1-4 eh ?
4 Hard starting na sya after stalling pero minsan nagstart din agad siya
5 Distributor cap lang napalitan hindi yung buong distributor, pero my distributor is already old and I suspect it is still the original so it might make it 18 years old.
7 Im residing pala in Baguio City kaya hindi pwede kila speedyfix.
