prices kasi ngayon ng segment A cars like celerio at picanto napaka mahal na
it's like yes they're a better alternative lalo na sa price pero my mind is like whispering na sana babaan pa ng onti yung price XD

pero kung ang soul ay ibebenta ng 1m+, i think this bear would sell. almost half the price kasi ng soul eh

Nakakita na noon ako ng Great Wall Hover(Nexus Hover that is....) at medyo ok naman sya,alam ko yung design nya ay galing sa Isuzu Axiom(licensed clone daw),yung Great Wall Peri daw ay mas matibay pa sa Fiat Panda ayon sa some Europeans eh.. Yung Great Wall Coolbear ang type ko dyan,sarap gawing mala-Scion..

Thank you for that information. The funny thing is that we and GW Research and Development was not even fully aware about how 'Volkswagen Magellan' looks like as it was not mass produced. The truth is Great Wall patterned the designs, technology and manufacturing ethics to Toyota. Some of the earlier designs even looked like Toyota. But as time went by, Great Wall created its own. It even built its own CRDi engine in cooperation with Bosch of Germany. Technology transfer really starts with joint ventures and the like then develop from there. Just like Hyundai with Mitsubishi before. Look where Hyundai is now.

Great Wall will start assembling GW Wingle SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) tentatively (if everything will go as scheduled) on January 2010. Then other models will follow. The assembly plant is at FMC Assembly Plant at Talon, Las Pinas. However, it will be under a different name 'Statemotor Corporation' in cooperation with State Investments Trust Inc.

Under this venture, we are also currently developing the FMC Passenger Jeepney using Chinese made engines but still retaining the classic Jeepney Design. Later-on ....ANFRA. Isa isa lang coz research, development and production cost a lot. It is much easier to finance mass production (though it's more expensive) because after you produce, you can sell as there is a market for it already than to fund a research and development of which like the ANFRA that was displayed at the SMX show years back, we did not mass produce as the market feedback is more on negative than positive. Therefore, we should do better than that. How do we do that? By collecting and building on top of negative but constructive criticisms. One channel is this forum.

Ah yung Wingle pala ang unang gagawing SKD na car here,sana maging mura nayang Great Wall vehicles pag SKD units na sya para mas maging attractive ang pricing nya!!

Ang wish ko yung Peri at Coolbear nalang muna ang inunang gawing SKD para maging mura kahit papaano ang dalawang very interesting cars nayan!!

Ang katapat nyang i10 mong halos expensive din ay yung Great Wall Peri na nasa 485K Pesos at may Dual Airbags at ABS at 1.3 liter engine sya di hindi kasing BARE nang i10..

By the way, GW Hover is the number 1 SUV in China for 6 consecutive years now in terms of sales volume. It didn't happen for no reason at all.

Besides, I still see many of our 1979 Pinoy, Passenger Jeepneys and 1989 Anfra/s still running. 30 years. A long lasting vehicle is not only about what brand it is. But it is how the owner takes care of the vehicle in terms of normal use and periodic maintenance and also the support from the manufacturer, distributor and dealer of which we can guarantee. We had been in the automotive industry serving the Filipino people for 62 years now despite of all the setbacks and four economic crises.

I am not a fanboy of Korean cars but a fanboy of good cars regardless where it came from and most China cars sadly are not one of them... But its good that we have scapegoats to buy them and do the testing para these Chinese companies get money and with money do research and in the future be better... But not on my expense! Kaya eggman instead of buying an R8 or a Genesis Coupe bumili ka na lang ng Chinese cars. Imagine how many Chinese cars you can buy with the price of an R8 and a Genesis Coupe and at the same time provide much needed funding for these Chinese car companies to do research!

Yung Great Wall nasa Australia narin but yung Wingle muna at Sail ang nandun,wala pa yung passenger cars..Mukhang lucky lang talaga ang Philippines dahil nilabas rito ang cars nila tulad ng Peri at Coolbear(patay ang Kia Soul rito).. Wish ko lang EMDFrancisco eh mas maging competitive ang pricing nito!

BTW may isa pa palang Toyota Yaris clone ang Great Wall AFAIK at may mala-Fiat Panda 4X4 na version ang Peri(Peri M1 ang tawag rito)...
