I am in the market for this MPV.

If you have experience with this vehicle, please let me know what you think?

    Gas consumption?
    Maintenance?
    Things to look out for?
    Parts?

    Thank you for your help.

It will be a van for my retired mom and dad

do a search this car has a thread.

That said, since this car has been discontinued, you will have to buy used. Selling price should be around 450,000.

It seats 10. Gas consumption is around 5 kms/L city and 10 km/L highway. I have mine maintained by Speedyfix. Sobrang taga ng casa. It likes 5w30 or 10w30 weight oil. Dont use heavier viscosity as it will mess up your fuel consumption.

I buy parts from Thunder Automotive. They have better prices than casa. However, some parts are order basis.

Common problems with this car: overheating, whistling noise from the AC, suspension probs. The whistling noise comes and goes but its more of a nuisance than anything else. It wont hut your AC. For the suspension, I just had it fixed by Cruven. 1 year na and so far so good.

It is a nice looking minivan. But sad to say not very well built. Stories of its problems abound. A year 2000 unit was offered to me at 275K-- it still looked nice, but looking at its gas consumption I had to buy another minivan.

Very low resale value. Which is good if you're buying 2nd hand. But makes you wonder why?

Malakas ito sa gasolina,- Maganda naman ang ride niya,...

Mukha ngang itong klaseng van na ito ang nasunog recently sa kalye habang minamaneho ng may-ari....

A lot of horrible stories about the Venture. I suggest you look for another van.

Medyo malakas sa gas, pricey ang parts kahit kay Thunder compared to other van, parang di original na chevrolet kung durability pag uusapan. Better look for Starex na lang na CRDI second hand, you can enjoy same quality of ride. Or Volkswagen Caravelle TDI haha!! (Kung mas may budget ka for maintenance) . Peace bro!!

Bought our venture 2 months ago...share ko lang mga experiences ko

It's 2004 model 35,500km milage. Nabili namin sya direct sa may-ari talaga. Kase ung tito ko driver nya. The previous owner owns 6 cars. Kaya hindi masyado gastado. 390k ang bili namin.

Sa suspension, SO FAR suber lambot. walang PANG kalampag.

Ang sarap i-drive. Sobrang comfortable.

maganda ang lock features and reverse sensor niya.

So i guess venture is a good ride. depende na lang siguro kung pano mo gagamitin. Sa amin kase talagang family car siya. Syempre nde ka naman kakaskas at magiging careless kung may sakay ka na mga bata di ba? Pero all of these were based sa 2 months namin na gamit ang venture. Marami pa pwede mangyari...knock on wood wala naman sanang masama. hehehe

we had a brand new 2002 venture but sold it 10,000kms later. the reasons: on uphill climbs (tagaytay) it tends to overheat, our venture stalled never to start again-the cause a broken fuel pump(costs 20K, sometimes not readily available), power side mirrors usually gets stuck, rattling suspension systems especially upfront, rattling plastic parts inside, poor build quality. the bright side is it has large interior space, sofa-like seats, soft suspension, smooth automatic transmission, and a powerful but not that fuel thirsty engine.this shanghai-made american minivan is not up to the challenge of its japanese counterparts namely, the sienna, previa, and the oddysey. if you want real value for money, dont consider this minivan which scores very low on consumer ratings the world over. the new venture is the chevrolet uplander only released in the north american market. consider buying the innova, avanza, starex, or grand livina. hope this can help! thank you. the resale value of the venture at present is a mere 300K while the brand new price then was +/- 1.3M.

Just ask MBT (the guy here who used to complain about his venture... now with bigbigcar.com )... his Venture has started overheating... again. This is the fourth time they've had overheating problems (not the fourth overheat, ha... maybe the 1000th... )... this is after pump, radiator and overhaul.

Family use only. QC-Makati. Poor thing is now R.I.P. and sold.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
