Kung di magkalayo ang presyo nito sa CRV then This will be the winner

Walang 2WD variant nito kaya for sure mas mahal to pero expect na mas mura ang Captiva 2 liter VCDi 4WD kaysa sa CRV 2.4 LITER 4WD.

    Not exactly just a rebadge.

The Chevrolet Captiva uses the same architecture as other GM Theta platform SUVs.
It was first conceived as a Chevrolet, but badged as a Daewoo only for the domestic market, this explains why all GMDAT's concepts are badged as Chevrolets.
GMDAT is now GM's manufacturing/development arm in asia and europe.
All the new and upcoming GMDAT models will be integrated with the other global GM models.

The Chevrolet Captiva (aka Daewoo Winstrom for the Korean domestic market) is the sister model of the Opel Antara (aka Vauxhall Antara for the UK and Saturn Vue in North America).
    Opel Antara

    Chevrolet Captiva

S3X concept it was based on

Added info: Both GMDAT Chevrolet and Opel versions of these SUVs are sold in Australia as the Holden Captiva.
Cheverolet Captiva = Holden Captiva (the lower end model)
Opel Antara = Holden Captiva Maxx (the higher end model)

there's a review of the chevrolet captiva at autoexpress.co.uk.They even compared it with hyundai sta.fe and honda crv. The Captiva was made in korea and on comparing it with the sta.fe and CRV, the Captiva lost to both. The Sta.fe emerge as the #1 followed by the CRV. The Captiva is kulelat

That reminds me of a 3-car mid-size comparison test 2 years ago in the US.
    Sonata was 1st
    Accord was 2nd
    Camry was 3rd
But in the real world, people saw it the other way around.

Of course, not everyone in the general public is a car guy.

Some of my relative ride 'Yotas not because they make great cars, they just do so out of blind faith in the badge. Never mind having less features and paying a higher price. hehehe.

And yet they still seem to spend more on maintenance and repairs...

The Santa Fe beat the Captiva because it offered slightly more passenger space and torque.

The CR-V beat the Captiva because of better on-road handling, main problem of the CR-V was its lack of flexibility.

    On a separate review

    Captiva's 3rd row seats.

For the school run, the interior even has the option of a third row of chairs, making the Chevy a full seven-seater. Although space is tight in the back section, the chairs fold flat when not in use to improve load space.

Stowage for five-passenger cars is 465 litres, rising to 930 litres when you lower the second row. However, if you use all seven seats, room for luggage is very restricted. Whatever layout you choose, there is the benefit of opening rear glass, so you needn’t raise the entire tailgate to gain access to the boot.

Up front, the neatly designed dashboard and centre console look good. And although hard cabin plastics are the order of the day, solid build quality and generous equipment compensate. Unfortunately, the heating panel and stereo are positioned far too low, while a needless storage cubby occupies the more desirable location higher up.
Anybody have the official local prices?

Its a development of GMDAT and GM. (post#23)
The 1st generation Theta platform which the updated Theta is based on was developed by GM of North America, not GM Europe. (They have more experience with SUVs)

I guess its not much of a problem, since very few people would actually try to scale mounds like that, besides in the RP, the Santa Fe CRDi comes with FWD.

actually hindi nga eh, yun Hyundai Starex na 2k2 over 500K pa pero yun chevy venture na below 400k na lang resale. and considering mas mahal pa acquisition ng chevy. (we had a venture)

ok sana 'to Chevy Captiva CRDi, halos sinlaki ng Sta. Fe tapos CRDi pa kaya lang baka naman piyesa neto eh hindi bumaba ng 30k isa (like the venture) eh wag na lang muna. ni wala sya ka-share na platform parts sa GM Phils. line-up unlike the Sta. Fe may starex.

but I like the exterior design. kung bibilhan ko wife ko ng SUV (or our alternate SUV), isa na ito sa choices ko (1st CRV, 2nd Sportage CRDi, 3rd Captiva CRDi).

The Captiva is MADE IN KOREA accdg to both carguide.news.com and autoexpress.co.uk. That's why madalas kino-compare ang dalawa bec they're the only korean-made SUV with 7 -seater. Its marketed in Australia as Holden Captiva and in the UK as Chevrolet Captiva

Correction on the engine displacement. It's 2.0 Crdi not 2.4.
