with how the Colorado's pricing is going, the Trailblazer looks like just another pipe dream for me.

Yun Orlando nila - Chevy Venture Part 2 yun, expensive to maintain, gas guzzler pero cge Kung may bumili eh d go.Originally Posted by cyplanr

Always the pessimist, eh OB? If TCCCI treats Chevy like it's just trip lang nila, noong una pa lang they shouldn't have took over as the distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines. That's not the way to do business and it's unethical. Since you gave the Orlando as an example, kaya naman ganyan ang price nun is because it has many features not found in the Innova V variant. Eh kung maglabas sila ng other variants na stripped down ng nag-iisang variant, and hindi naglalayo sa presyo ng Innova E and J variants, and packing more features than the 2 lower end variants of the Innova, tingin mo hindi pa rin bibili ng mga consumer? You haven't moved on from the stigma that befell Chevy in the past. TCCCI has been doing a good job in changing the reputation of Chevy here in the Philippines. The Cruze, while not as many as the Civic and the Altis, is nowadays a common sight on our roads. Mas marami pa ngang ganun kesa Focus. Sablay nga lang sila pagdating sa Colorado 4x4 LTZ because they stripped it of its most important safety features, and priced it very high. Who knows, they'll learn their lesson pagdating sa 2012 Captiva and the Trailblazer.
puzzling pa rin kung paano mag-price itong Chevy... galing na nga Thailand di pa rin competitive price. akala siguro nila premium brand silajust look at the Thai prices for the Colorado and the F Ranger and compare it with their launch prices here

they should consider bringing in stripper variants, i believe the Orlando has potential na maging Innova beater if they introduce trim levels na pang tapat dun. Too early though for the Trailblazer to release a stripper model though. Pero sa Colorado Pick-up mag labas sila ng mas mababa.
Maybe theyre thinking too much na american brand sila.
trip trip lang yan covenant company na yan coz they own HARI also d'ba. if for example, Toyota gets top market share this year at 29K+ units sold, then Mitsu at 16K+ units sold, and Hyundai third. Hyundai + Chevy sales sa mata nun may-ari, greater than Mitsubishi sales na siguro.
who needs market share, if you can get more money dito sa Chevy. in the end, in the business sense, yun pera nalikom pa din ang importante. and so they have HARI functioning like Toyota / Mitsu, and they hav chevy that they can test the highest market prices
ganyan lang naman talaga gawain ng mapera. so yun bibili ng Chevy na mga ganyan, oh well yun kayo yun dun sa mas mataas nya profit making but still what you own is just a Chevy
Also, i don't think Chevy can fill-up that gap between Hyundai and Mitsu. If Mitsu will top-off at 30-35k, tapos hyundai at maybe 25k units, di kaya ng Chevy ang 5k units for the year.
tama ka bro. yun mazda pang high-end. yun Ford pang masa like Toyota, Mitsu.
yun Chevy kasi may stigma na dito sa'tin and so for the HARI/TCCI owners to make it a mainstream/masa brand, mas mahirap. but still Chevy is still a big name internationally so yun na lang siguro, market it as a more upscale brand na lang, and price it higher. they know naman na it won't sell in volume like the Toyotas or Hyundais, so limit the supply, increase the price.
eh kayang lang these Chevy's are produced in thailand pala, like the Fortuners, Hilux and the Montero Sport. so to market it somehow a notch higher than the other 3 ladder frames, remains to be seen. ang edge lang nila eh bagong body eto Trailblazer unlike the Fortuner and Montero na more than 3 years older.
siguro the Trailblazer pricing will also be the basis of the next gen Fortuner pricing. eh kaya lang ang problema dito Montero, Montero pa nga even lowered it to almost 1M, with non-vGt model. kasi sobra success ang 4d56 ni Mitsu eh, tipong 90's pa nga yun eh. and looks like the current Montero body will be replaced baka more than 10 years from now. kasi yan na ang trend ni Mitsu ngaun, adventure, l300, strada hindi na inaa-update ang exterior, dini-distribute pa nga nila yun designs sa lower ends, imagine may strada FB lol
and the Mitsu strategy seems to be working, kasi bigla sila nag #2 dito.
I have found the english version of the Trailblazer's brochure. Here it is:
Chevrolet Trailblazer English Brochure
You'll see that it has better features than the Fortuner and Montero Sport combined. But there are 2 features of its 2 competitors that it lacks as standard: HID headlamps and headlamp washers.
All the dealers I inquired with said Sept/Oct and will be in the 1.5M++ price range. I'm just waiting for the official pricing and availability before I decide to buy the Trailblazer or just go with the new 2.5 Fortuner VNT. I also like the new Santa Fe but the 4x2 A/T is priced way beyond my budget (1.768M). Sayang maganda pa naman.
I was hoping they kept the pricing competitive against the MS. Sana mid range yung 1.5m
