Hello everybody... newbie here. Chevy displayed 2 units here in SM Davao, the 2.5 Manual and the 2.8 4x4 Manual. A relative was of mine was thinking of buying and ask my help to do research. I would have recommended to wait for the new DMAX but according the other forum (from this site) that won't happen anytime soon. Based on the research(this forum/thread) the model in the Philippine has been greatly stripped with a lot of safety(braking) features. based on the brochure of the provided from this forum local units doesn't have EBD which was standard for it's sibling/cousin the >5 year old DMAX. The TCS and and ESC would have been great for towing.

True story. Some buyers wouldn't even care to these newer high-output turbodiesels if those old underpowered non-turbo engines were made available for the pickups again

The new Colorado has more powerful engine options than the all-new D-Max (which is not yet sold here).

    From my previous post:
Isuzu version has weaker Isuzu iTEQ engines while the Chvey version uses more powerful Duramax engines.

    all-new D-Max
    177hp 3.0 Ddi VGS Turbo
    136hp 2.5 Ddi VGS Turbo
    116hp 2.5 Ddi Turbo

    all-new Colorado
    180hp 2.8 Duramax
    150hp 2.5 Duramax

Yes it's confirmed that the Safety features were all removed except for the ABS.
Even the EBD was not written on the brochure, meaning also out.
The rear brake is now drum brake while in thailand is disc. The front disc has no perforation as in Thailand.
The tires size were also reduced. Big surprise was the Bed Liner, also Gone !
Masyado HINUBARAN, Tingin nila sa Phil Market mababa. Pero ang taas ng Price Tag compared to Strada.
    Observation ko lang.

you mean bed liner is sold separately?
imo, most of the car sellers are in "max profit" mindset. they are trying to bring down the cost and sell at a premium.
now, its for the consumer to choose the car that he believes has better value for this money.

Those running TCCCI aren't in their right minds nowadays. They didn't think that by offering the Colorado with all the complete features of the Thai Colorado LTZ, and couple it with a pricing scheme na katulad ng Strada and Navara, they will dominate the market until the arrival of the Ranger 3.2 Wildtrak. Iniisip nila kailangan mataas ang presyo agad tapos babawasan pa ng features which might make this pick up change the people's perception of Chevrolet here in the Philippines. At ito pa isa kong pinagtataka. TCCCI is not paying import duties for the Colorado due to the ASEAN Free Trade Area, so why price it very high? In Thailand nga, the LTZ is priced at 998k Baht, approx. P1.317M, and kumpleto pa ang features. Kung sino man ang mga nasa marketing at technical department ng TCCCI, they should all be fired by Atty. Albert Arcilla for not making the right advice to him.

TCCI knows that they will never be a Mitsu or Toyota even if they price this vehicle at masa pricing of the strada or hilux. kaya mahalan na lang nila. mas maganda nga yan para madali i-rule-out etong vehicle na'to. imho, too many models of pickups in the market, redundant na. the pickup nowadays are for a market segment. kung tuusin nga it's more logical to buy the oldest and reliable pickup nowadays, lalo na kung gagamitin sa business. syempre overhead cost lang yan eh, dapat reliable and practical.

That's interesting, I didn't expect it to be that much more expensive.
Their petrol Cruze models seem to be priced just right here, and its sourced from South Korea, not Thailand.
How is Toyota's pricing for their Hilux, Php vs Baht?

sana konti lang bumili nito sa ganitong presyo para mapag isipan nila mabuti ang pricing ng trailblazer :-) unless ayaw talaga nila makakuha ng market share.

The price of the top of the line Strada in Thailand is 952,000 Baht, approximately P1.260M. While here in the Philippines, the price of the Strada GLS Sport V is P1.315M, but we have the DVD/GPS HU with integrated MID, plus we have a steering wheel audio control. Grabe ang laki talaga ng patong ng mga car company dito except Mitsubishi. And to think that these car companies do not pay import duties if they source their vehicles from Thailand due to the ASEAN Free Trade Area.

I guess you can count Ford in too aside from Mitsubishi, I just compared the local and Thai prices of the new Ford Ranger.

    2.2 XLT Hi-rider M/T (4x2)
    Thai price: 789,000 Baht (P1,045,535.46)
    Local price: P1,069,000

    2.2 XLT Hi-rider A/T (4x2)
    Thai price: 819,000 Baht (1,085,289.66)
    Local price: P1,119,000

This the photo you were trying to post?
That's the steering tie rod, by the way. The rack is hidden.

This (below) is the steering tie rod of the Hilux (photo shows Australian model)

    Looks similar to me.

Thank you for the fix and for the clarification... Colorado is really worth the consideration on the next buy.
