I test drove the 2.8 A/T colorado this morning..I wasn't impressed on the published 470nm torque, I expected more engine punch & the brakes was a little bit weak compared to the strada & navara. The torque is just comparable to my navara's 400nm of torque. From a full stop acceleration i can sense na iiwanan siya ng strada VGT namen, i just dont know how it performs pass 110 km/h. But aside from the negative points of this pick up truck that i noticed, everything was nice. It has a roomy cabin for a pick up truck, roomier than the strada & navara. For me its the best interior design on the local pick up market today, I like how the switches and displays were integrated. The suspension is good compared to the hilux & ranger, at par with the navara & strada. It also has a big bed space for hauling stuffs. I have a month to decide whether i'll add this colorado to our pick up fleet, as usual in black again

How about when I was pushing it past 110 kph JP? Didn't you feel its power?

For me it was really fast when it reached 80 kph, definitely faster than the Strada VGT. I think Chevy deliberately made the power delivery of the Colorado smooth and linear in order for its occupants not to experience positive or negative G forces. Nakakahilo yun.

One thing din pala, the engine sounds like a quieter version of Isuzu's diesel engine. Mas tahimik pa rin ang mga toyota D-4D, but it is a lot quieter than Mitsubishi's 4D56 and 4M41, and the Navara's diesel engine.

Looks way too close to the Isuzu RT50

I wonder if the price and the badge is enough for it to become a best-seller. The Cruze failed to even put a dent to the Civic's marketshare. The Strada's achievement is basically due to its price.

Its hard to really avoid the similarities since they both use the same basic body (The two being sister models).
When it comes to front end designs, they look totally diffetent.

PS: Isuzu version has weaker Isuzu iTEQ engines while the Chvey version uses more powerful Duramax engines.

mejo magkaiba sila ng side creases sa door panels since ibang component naman ito, same as the rear gate and front panels. Sana pati side moulding din to differentiate it further

Different side panels, but the difference in styling is not as extensive as the difference between the Ranger & BT-50.

Isuzu has a substantial market share in the pick up segment. Will the loyalists fly the coop? Abangan!

yeah, reminds me of the recent BT-50, its like 90% ranger

Medyo mataas presyo nito ah, for a Chevy. I personally wouldn't pay over 1.5M when there's a Strada that costs 200k less with al the features I need, and still looks better IMO.

But the Strada does not have Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Cornering Brake Control, Rear Disc Brakes, Leather Seats, 6 speed A/T, LED Tail Lamps, Projector Headlamps and Power Folding Side Mirrors, which the Colorado have as standard. Plus it has a smaller cargo bed than the Colorado. For me, justified ang price ng top of the line Colorado because it has more features than the Strada. I'm just waiting kung magkano i-paprice ng Ford ang 3.2 Ranger Wildtrak.

I'm not sure if those features are what pick-up buyers really want. There's the question of whether the market demands more features or a lower price. We'll see how it pans out.

If I had to make a guess though, I bet the Colorado will fail to topple the Strada's throne, or even significantly steal its market share.

^from SA. don't know the accuracy of the specs. better wait for the final release. for the price, it may increase or decrease by 30-50k.
The Covenant Car Company Incorporated (TCCCI) has officially rolled out the Colorado. http://chevy.com.ph/images/brochures...o-brochure.pdf. But what I find really disappointing is to find the Philippine model stripped off of its Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Cornering Brake Control. This is what I was interested in. Hope the TOTL 3.2 Ranger will retain such safety features. Could have settled for the Colorado if it were not stripped off of its safety features rumored earlier. I guess I have to wait for the TOTL 3.2 Ford Ranger Wildtrack after all.

hmm, TCCC probably knows that these are the features that the local buers dont care to have

That's for sure sir, now that the rumored safety specs are not there. On the other hand, I think the Philippine "market demand" prefer a lower price compared to more features. However, if there will be increased awareness about Electronic Stability Control feature and the like, the market demand would change. I for one consider empirical evidence from research studies. If there is a 30percent less risk of getting into an accident because of ESC why not go for it. Here are some links I have posted before that would justify having such safety feature.

That's what makes it even more frustrating because local buyers can live with fact that we get models that are not at par with models from other countries or with Thailand at the very least.

Most pickup buyers main consideration will be the price, they don't care about those three letter alphabets.

that sucks. now the features do not justify the high pricetag.
