I thought so as well.
nice! are they goin to have souped up version of this? like a SS version or somethin'
tinalo ang FD? :shocked2: siguro dahil DOHC engine din sya.
pero ano kaya ang consumption nya?
Saw this also in MOA, GANDA and bang for the buck!(on paper anyway) Let's wait for the reviews. Ganda din ng brochure nila...
This will definitely be in my list when i go sedan hunting by May or June.![]()
Good day mga chiefs.
I know this maybe a bit off-topic in a way but some people say that chevy's tend to be "a pain to maintain". I think it has something to do with the availability of parts and there are not that many independent mechanics (outside casa) who are familiar with the chevy's engine and built, but please, do correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm just curious lang really and it is indeed a great looking car. It's like the Aveo's big brother if you think about it.
Pero curious lang talaga ako if the maintenance issues of chevys here in the Philippines is really that bad/difficult or not.
cheers!![]()
yup mahirap talaga maintenance nyan. parts and repairs sa casa lagi. kahit PMS mahal.
I like the body design specially side view.. I saw it sa MOA yesterday.
I'm hoping na maglabas din sila ng CRDi na ganito....just like the engine of the captiva that would be really intresting on their part....but if its gonna be the case...malamang nyan magiging 1.2m ang level ng pricng nyan...

I wished Chevy got rid of that trademark bowtow insignia for a more conventional front grille (which can be seen on badge mates: Daewoo Lacetti, Holden Cruze, etc..)
I have to admit, mas maganda nga rin siya sa Altis! Haha... Sportiness and elegance combined kasi, kumbaga a good balance of both.
Since bago pa ang Cruze, little is known if it's actually any better than the...what car was that? Yung interior looks so ...Korean. The dash looks like it's from a Hyundai.
Well for all the times that the Philippines got cars late it at least beat the US market to the Cruze. The model won't come out in the US until third quarter of 2010. Suprised that they only brought the 1.8L ecotec and not the 1.4L ecotec turbo which has more torque. Maybe Chevy Philippines will even bring the SS model when it comes out with the 2.0L turbo and 260hp.
Test drive on the Cruze will proceed today. Feedback on the results later.
We need info on actual FC City and Highway. This is the missing info from Topgear philippines Cruze review.
SOHC / DOHC has absolutely nothing to do with power unless you implement variable cam phasing. SOHC with variable cam timing and lift is just as powerful as DOHC.
Those are numbers for the MT. A 1.8 Civic MT can do the deed in the 9-second range (one US site claims below 8-seconds to 60 mph with a super-high rpm clutch-dump launch).
Our numbers for the Corolla 2.0, Civic 1.8 and Focus 2.0, all within the 10.5 second range, are for automatics. The only number (still claimed) I can find for the automatic 1.8 Cruze is 11.5 seconds.

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
The test drive on the Cruze was just a drive around the car park. Wasn't able to drive it over 60. I was also able to test drive the current Mazda 3 in comparison. Driving fun goes to the Mazda 3 against the Cruze. Although the Cruze has a true computer like menu in the dash, the quality and workmanship falls short against the Mazda 3. Pricing and total cost of ownership would be much higher with the Cruze. The dealer was also able to give a 80K cash discount on the Mazda 3 making your total 5-year loan payments lower compared to a lower priced Suzuki Swift Automatic!
A Chinese auto website lists the 1.8l Cruze at 1425kg. I would probably get the 1.4l turbo since it is more likely to be refined and sorted out (benefiting from the US market modifications).
Now if Chevy offered it with a longer warranty (5years) or parts delivery guarantee...they can easily win some market share.
