igorbaby: Mahirap daw makipagusap sa mga driver, that's why he hired a manager. Madami kasi daw natatanggap na death threats galing sa sariling drivers. Mahirap na. The drivers don't even know my uncle's face. Violent kasi yung iba, init ata ulo pag di umabot sa boundary.

Anyway, do you have any idea kung magkano ang boundary ng brand new taxi now?
I opt to get a brand new Toyota unit with a 1.3 engine, subok ko na kasi ang maintenance cost & reliability ng Toyota. Do you already have an idea in running transport business? Maybe we can discuss partnership, what do you think?
brand new taxis like altis and vios normally have 1400-1500 boundary, while 96 to 98 units around 1000-1200, 99 and in between 1200-1300 et al

after interviewing at least a hundred+ drivers (pag nagtataxi ako) for the past 6 months or so ive arrived at a conclusion: the taxi operator business is definitely lucrative. It all depends sa proper tutok ng maintenance and driver good moral character. Karamihan ng mga nakausap ko matitino naman, lalo na ung mga middle aged at pamilyado na, (35 yrs old and up). Sawa na siguro sa mga bangga at kalokohan
... iba na talaga nagagawa ng may pinapalaki

unfortunately iv yet to talk with a bigtime operator, puro small time pa lang pero ganun din ang feedback nila, as long as behave ang driver mo at maingat sa sasakyan, siguradong panalo. Lalo na kung beginner minimum investment lang by taking second-hand but well-maintained taxi units.

And of course kelangan din ng sprinkle of luck, and blessing ng nasa Taas.

Sure pre ok yang partnership pre Il discuss it muna sa family ko dahil d ko pa alam how we can work out the nitty gritty, pero for now very sure na ko next year na mag operator.

    Lotur,

Those boundary rates are 24hrs o 12hrs operation? Sir, just let me know your location, maybe I can visit you next year during my vacation.

    Thanks a lot!

good luck guys. its always great to hear from enterpreneurial spirits.

just my 2 cents: yung isang family driver namin, dating taxi driver. dalawang beses daw siyang na-hold-up (at twice na siya nasaksak sa tagiliran) ng pasahero. ayaw na niya ng pangatlong hold-up kaya nag-family driver na siya. on both occassions (yung dalawang hold-up events), kasama nang na-carnap ang taxing minamaneho niya.

yung family driver din ng kaibigan ko, dati ding taxi driver. na-holdup naman siya ng babaeng pasahero (di daw siya makapaniwala up to now na naisahan siya ng babaeng pasahero), kaya nag-family driver na siya. na-carnap din ang taxi niya during the hold-up.

so guys, please get insurance for your taxi fleet. yun lang and good luck again. dami ko na ding na-interview na taxi driver kapag nag-ta-taxi ako and 99% said its a lucrative business (may isang nagsabing hindi daw).

I honestly think that there's way too much taxi around already. But sana naman itabi na nila yun bulok and open new franchises for wannabe operators with new fleet of taxis. if a vios cost like 550K and boundary is 1200 a day, 1 year and 3 months lang bawi ka na but that is the taxi is running every day of the year. But isipin nyo din kung buong araw tumatakbo yun taxi, bilis ma laspag nun and that's where maintenance cost comes in. Dapat siguro may sarili kayong mechaniko, that way di kayo sa casa o sa talyer pa magpapa maintain or repair.

Di ko lang sure kung yun driver o operator yun gagastos para sa repairs, o hati. dapat hati para ingatan ng driver yun kotse.
