ang kwento... SM noticed mabenta ang product nila so ang ginawa daw ng SM nag source direct sa China. di na daw kumuha sa kanila

Also, if you're a supplier of SM, ang pagbabayad nila sa items mo is if dumaan na sa POS nila. So pag may nawala sa selling area or sa warehouse nila, di nila babayaran yun since hindi dumaan sa POS. Grabe talaga SM, walang kalugi.

According to my friend who work's sa colgate, every time na may mag oopen na SM supermarket they are required to shell out 1M as support to SM

It's opening support pa lang. Wala pa yung listing fee for all items they will carry in their store and promo funds for selected products pa. It is really very expensive to negotiate with retail giants.

Again, Calgate-Palmolive yung nag pull out of SM.

Ang masama nito, lahat ng groceries and supermarkets ginagawa na ang style ni SM. Listing fee, display allowance, anniversary support, christmas support, opening support, sale promo, and recently, may customer kaming humingi ng wedding support! Kawawa mga small time suppliers.

Kung hindi SM, may iba... this is the trend... competition... nag shift na sa retailers ang power... wala na sa manufacturers... malaki din investment ng retailers kung tutuusin... but it has now come to a point na they (retailers) are cashing in on their investment na...

di mo masisi.. tinatangkilik ang retailer eh.. if you ask yourself... kelan ka huling pumunta ng palengke para mamili ng mga kailangan mo sa bahay? kung ginagawa mo pa rin yun, do you still completely buy ALL your household needs sa palengke? or nahati na (yung iba sa SM/Puregold - yung iba sa palengke)... since na capture na ng retailers yung market.. they now control the market.... nagmumula lang naman lahat yan mismo sa consumers eh... kung nasan ang consumer, susunod ang produkto... since na corner na ng retailer ang produkto... no choice kungdi sumunod ang manufacturers / suppliers...

mas attractive now sa lifestyles ng generation now sa malls and supermarkets... aircon, malinis, walang putik... and all these cost money... more money than maintaining a wet / dry market or pamilihang bayan... so shempre as a business.. san mo kukunin yun? shepre either sa customers, or sa suppliers ... wala ng iba... kung sa customer nya kukunin.. sa sachet country like Philippines.. walang bibili sa kanya... eh di sa supplier nya kunin....

don't get me wrong.. i also detest the tactics done by the retailers... i'm from the manufacturing industry din... but.. siguro.. pagalingan na lang siguro sa merkado yun..

kung big scale impact.. in a way.. mas nakikinabang gobyerno sa ganitong setup.. mas madaling maningil ng taxes sa iilang big retailers, vs sa mas marami at mas maliliit na market stalls... nasa gitna yung mga employment opportunities (although 5 months contract lang) and yung ibang business na makikinabang.... shempre.. kung saan may makikinabang.. meron ding naaapektuhan...

Kaya kawawa mga small businesses especially yung backyard industry. Di sila makakapasok sa mga big supermarkets. Sa mga sari-sari stores and palengke nalang sila nakakabenta. Di nila kaya ang cost of doing business with the retail giants.
