Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
In light of our current economic situation, What do you guys think is the reasonable Monthly Net Salary of a Household of Four with 2 young kids?
This should be exclusive of tax and assuming no Home Rental and Car Mortgage.
Thanks in advance for you inputs.
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
kung walang home rental and car mortgage.. hmm our employees survives with 20T a month net.. so depende sa lifestyle yan.. some kasya kahit 15T a month..
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
with two kids? nowadays to have a decent means of living just above the survival 3-meal-per-day indicator, the husband and wife should have a total income of 45k (1000 USD) for the basic food clothing shelter plus education and pay the utility bills, rent/morgage and in my opinion - a modest car...
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
IMO, should be not lower than P50K take home per month....
4303:gun:
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
well kung kasama home rental and car.. 2 kids.. hmm siguro 50T net a month.. pero tanda ko non.. 2 na anak ko.. 12T lang sweldo ko.. kasya naman.. mga 10 years ago..
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
pag dyan sa NCR, dapat 50k net for a decent comfortable quality of life.
pag sa provinces/small cities naman, 30k sobra sobra na.
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
I think, around P50,000. Ok na 'to, meron ka pang konting savings.
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
talk about income...
from today's business mirror: Our middle class is shrinking (which is already small to start with)
http://businessmirror.com.ph/10292007/headlines02.html
The people who authored the study defines middle class as "those families with present annual income of P251,283 to P2,045,280"
that's minimum P20,000 a month.
Decent living is subjective. What could be decent living for 1 person could be bare survival for another.
I'd rather think of it this way ---- After taking care of your family's basic needs, and u still have leftover money for hobbies or luho... then that's decent living.

I agree with this. Every one has their own definition of decent living.
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
Great Input from you guys. I have also the same opinion na around 50K net of taxes should be more than sufficient kapag including Rental and Mortgage.
The article mentioning 20K to 170K a month as middleclass is quite interesting. I would think na kapag more than 100K net mo monthly, you'll be on the next upper bracket na.

Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
sa 50k ok na basta wala kang binabayaran na malaki sa credit card.
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
I voted for 60k a month basing from the thread starters criteria.
That amount should also include your savings or a specific fixed amount that you put aside for the rainy days. Although some will say that "the higher, the better" I have always believed in adjusting your lifestyle in relation to your actual income. Sometimes it is always easy to make the mistake of not making some check and balance on the budget.
Ever since my we got married, we changed our style of saving by putting aside FIRST the intended amount for savings at the bank. Once that is cleared then the remaining money can be spent for whatever expenditures for that month.
I learned my lesson from my relatives who does the opposite by spending first then whatever remains will be put to savings. Usually this method is not very efficient if you are sincere in controlling your spending.
So you see, it's the little things that count
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
50k monthly is enough for a group of 4.
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
Subjective talaga ito.
I have a relative....P60 to 70T monthly, 3 kids. Kulang pa raw. Maxed out ang mag credit cards. Ironic, dahil CPA Graduate pa ang wife. Puro kasi rich ang mga "friends" niya...ayun, nakiki-rich din ang lifestyle. Pagbalik sa bahay, ayun....walang pera.
Decent living...is spend within you means. Prioritize on what are "must have", and "nice to have".
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
30K kasyang-kasya na dito sa province :bowako:
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
DonT: sorry but I have no idea how much the min wage in the 1st world country is.
It's my answer because I want to help a lot of people (not exactly relatives).
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
very true yung previous post na pagtaas ng income ay sunod naman yung expenses. kaya kung kayang i-maintain yung expenses pag tumaas yung income ay ideal but easier said than done:wonder:.
meron akong kaibigan na talagang frugal ang wifey... sa isang taon ay meron na siyang "claim savings" and makes really sure its gonna happen! :bowako:
magkano ba dapat ang average expenses per child? para naman may idea yung meron more than 2 kids
a decent income for me = 50-60k/mo net
Re: Average Monthly Salary for a Decent Living
depende sa kids kung anong age na nila.. kung mga bata pa (under 4).. you have vaccines, milk, diapers to worry about.. pag nag aaral naman.. unless sa public mo papasukin.. private tuition fees can go up to 20T to 100T per child per year.
