Waze is only good for urban areas where there is significant traffic. Outside Metro Manila and other Metro areas, the map is very, very incomplete so you still need other navigation apps/devices.

If you join WAZE, you'll gain access to their map editor. There, you can help improve the waze community by adding your own stuff to the waze map.

oo nga, ginagamit ko lang waze to check traffic reports and hanap ng alternate routes. kaso kagabi, traffic everywhere.

Correct. It is community/people-driven and they don't have dedicated developers that are paid to do it so essentially, the more users using in an area the more the map will benefit. It would be nice though if google incorporates their map data into this (hopefully they will in the future).

Everytime Im in Manila, lagi ko gamit ang waze kahit na alam ko yung way mas type ko parin gamitin yung waze Atleast alam ko around what time ako darating sa pupuntahan ko and kung saan traffic din Really great app

Waze is now using google map data since google bought waze already a few months ago ;)

I think it's the other way around since after the acquisition they launched navigation in our area. But either way, yup, they would benefit from one another.

Waze is using google map data (GIS) and google map is using waze traffic data ;)

Hmm. Not sure about that. :p Google maps doesn't have traffic data.

You can also use Nokia Drive's turn by turn navigation. Works even without Data Connections. Work globally and accurate most of the time even outside NCR.

Exactly, which is why I said it was the other way around. Google hasn't benefitted by waze yet. They had navigation in other countries long before they acquired waze.

I know that Waze users can help edit the map. But I'm already spending my free time contributing to OpenStreetMap. I don't have much free time to contribute to many mapping projects.

Nagamit ko waze nung march 2012 manila to pagudpod! No prob. Then manila to baguio nung jan 2013 ayos din. Smart 3G di nawawalan ng data.

Mga sir, napansin ko lang may navigation feature na pala ung recently updated google map. Ang lamang ni waze is ung traffic info. Hehehe

Oks ang Waze lalo na sa QC, pasig and etc.

sabaly siya sa makati at papuntang tagaytay via aguinaldo highway, may road na nakaoneway ang aguinaldo.
